"The location is a bit of a distance from the pier; it was about a fifteen-minute walk, especially with luggage. The staff member who assisted me was very helpful, even carrying my luggage upstairs to the second floor.
The entire courtyard is exceptionally well-designed and stylish, with many beautiful nooks and crannies where I took a lot of photos.
The only letdown was that at night, the duvet inexplicably had quite a few bugs. I initially squashed a few, thinking I could just put up with it, but then discovered even more crawling – it was truly a nightmare. I had no option but to call the staff in the middle of the night to come replace the duvet insert, cover, and sheets. I felt terrible for putting them through that."

SSaierweiyabaijuyiThe hotel is a small western-style building built more than 200 years ago. It is decorated in a retro style and is clean and hygienic. It is located in the center of Gulangyu Island. The surrounding is very quiet and close to the snack street. It is very convenient for shopping and eating, and it is not far from the tourist attractions. The hotel service is thoughtful and meticulous. Fruits were given and the breakfast was also very exquisite. The guy at the front desk gave road signs and locations before check-in, handed over hot tea when checking in, and helped with luggage. It was my birthday the day after check-in, and the hotel prepared longevity noodles for breakfast and gave me a birthday cake, which was a great surprise. Thanks to the two guys at the front desk for their hard work.

EE1685****There are no bikes or electric scooters on the island, so you can only get around on foot. The pharmacy is on the commercial street, and the guesthouse provides iodine swabs. Although the first floor always has linen carts piled up, the building itself is beautiful and elegant, inheriting the Queensland colonial architectural style well. There's a washing machine on the rooftop, which I only discovered on the last day, but for some reason, the entire floor was covered in soap suds. The simple breakfast is enough to fill you up, and you can ask for more if needed, which helps reduce food waste. The guesthouse has strollers available; I suggest parents using unofficial alternatives take advantage of theirs. We used a luggage cart as a stroller, and our child ended up with a bump. The pharmacy is on the commercial street, and the guesthouse provides iodine swabs. The shower head is quite heavy, and they use Sooky toothpaste, which is a nice touch. The toothbrushes are also rare, featuring an anti-slip design.

ZZuiainide123Cons: The room was in the basement of the villa area, quite low with a ceiling height of about two meters. It wasn't damp, though, and came with an air purifier and a smart toilet. However, the TV signal was a bit poor due to being underground. Otherwise, all the basic amenities were there. Pros: The owner was very friendly and provided a map of the island with explanations. The location is excellent, very close to Sunlight Rock and the snack street. The recommended restaurants were also good. Since it's located at a higher point on Gulangyu, you do have to walk a bit further to get to the beach. The photos are mostly taken from the top of Sunlight Rock overlooking the sea. It happened to rain that day, and the owner kindly lent us two umbrellas.

GGuest UserIt takes about 20 minutes to get off the boat at the first pier and walk to this hotel.
Sweating profusely and heartily.
On the way, you will pass by the ”Egg Filling” which is a must-eat for everyone. You can try it and drink the freshly squeezed juice sold along the way if you are thirsty.
I was a little nervous when I went to the island. I felt that the hotels on the island were all ”primitive” and the roads were narrow. The houses were very small, and I was a little worried that the hotels would not be satisfied.
When I arrived, I found that the courtyard, hall, stairs and rooms were all clean and refreshing.
What a surprise!
Although the room is small, the boss is very considerate. He turned on the air conditioner in advance, knowing that it would be hot when he walked in. The family of three was worried that the 1.5m bed was too small, so the boss lady spread an extra mattress and brought a quilt.
After a day's journey, it was good to have a clean sleep.
The courtyard is also convenient for drying clothes. The boss provides hangers, and the proprietress also provides free sand digging toys for children to play in the water on the beach.
In short, if you come to the island, choose this hotel, it is very cost-effective!

The staff (xiaogege) are very enthusiastic, and the environment is quite nice – a quiet oasis in a lively area. It's also very conveniently located close to both the ferry terminal and the snack street.

However, the hotel itself has way too many issues, making it hard to imagine repeat customers. Besides looking good, well, it's hard to put into words. Don't be fooled by what you see on Xiaohongshu! If you're just looking for photo opportunities, then it might work.
The hotel itself is very old, and the soundproofing is terrible – it feels more like a guesthouse than a proper hotel, which is quite frustrating. The only upside is its proximity to Zhongshan Road.
Definitely do *not* choose this hotel for a business trip! Definitely do *not* choose this hotel for a business trip! You're already exhausted from work, and then you have to battle with the hairdryer back at the hotel – it's just too much. If you're on vacation, there are plenty of other options for the same price. For anyone particular about hygiene, stick to chain hotels like HUAZHU. Seriously, trust me on this!

這次入住的海邊民宿體驗真的太棒了！雖然我們訂的不是海景房，但完全不影響整體的滿意度。首先要誇爆前台的服務，從辦理入住開始就感受到滿滿的誠意，小姐姐笑容特別親切，主動幫我們提行李，詳細介紹了周邊好吃的餐館和避坑指南，晚上我們諮詢哪裡可以買特產，她甚至拿出紙筆畫了張簡易地圖，這種耐心真的少見。民宿環境乾淨得沒話説，我們住的房間整潔明亮，床品柔軟沒有一點潮濕感，衞生間沒有任何異味，地磚縫隙都看不到污漬，光腳在地上走完全沒問題，對於我這種有點潔癖的人來説簡直是福音！最重要的是位置超級方便，出門拐個彎穿過一條綠樹成蔭的路就能到海邊，實際測量了下真的衹要五分鐘左右，比想象中還近，每天可以隨時去海邊散步看日出日落，玩沙回來沖澡換衣服特別方便。下次來這邊玩一定還會選擇這裏，畢竟這麼實惠的價格能享受到這麼優質的服務和環境，性價比真的太高了！
