AVOID AT ALL COST!! Definitely not worth the money and time! We have stayed at much better properties and facilities which are way better than this for a lower cost! Property needs a lot of work! Air con not working properly, shower is blocked and hot water not working properly! Food choice is limited, not great compared with other places we stayed during this Tuscany trip. Staff are generally nice which is the only thing I can say.

Five-star service, five-star facilities, five-star ambiance! Our experience at this medieval hotel was absolutely fantastic! The most memorable moment was when Gigi drove us around the estate, patiently explaining the hotel's history, fascinating stories, and eco-friendly philosophy. If we ever return to Tuscany, we will definitely choose Borgo Pignano again!

Tranquil, the perfect countryside vacation ! Everyone was so welcoming and gracious from the moment we arrived. We almost felt like family coming into stay for a few days. The staff is incredible, the grounds impeccable and the location is perfect! We have travelled all of Italy this month and this by far rates as one of our most favorite places! Plan to stay several nights if possible, you won’t regret it! Make certain you enjoy the pool and take a tour of the grounds! Breakfast was awesome. Villas amazing!

Borgo Pignano was the most beautiful and perfect getaway in the Tuscan countryside. It is hard to even comprehend how perfect every detail of this resort is. The staff was amazing - especially Gigi, who ensured we got a personal tour around the property, which was an absolute highlight. We booked a wine tasting - which was phenomenal (Axel was so knowledgeable and it was a highlight of the entire experience). We also booked a truffle hunt, which was a fun and unique experience! There is something to keep you occupied at all times of the day if wanted, or spaces that make it easy to relax and just unwind in the total serenity that this place provides. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We’re already trying to find an excuse to go back soon.

Borgo Pignano is one of those places that is genuinely difficult to put into words. My husband and I visited once before falling so completely in love with it that we decided almost immediately to host our wedding there. We returned a second time ahead of the wedding, and then spent a full week on property during the wedding itself — and across every single visit, the experience was consistent in the best possible way. The property itself is extraordinary. Expansive and impeccably maintained, it offers an almost overwhelming array of things to do and see — pools, a spa, horseback riding, an apiary, basketball courts, biking, walking trails, and some of the most stunning landscaping we have ever encountered. Whether you want total relaxation or to stay busy the entire time, Borgo Pignano accommodates both effortlessly. As a foodie, the food was one of the biggest reasons I was drawn to Borgo Pignano in the first place — and it never disappoints. The restaurant holds a green Michelin Star, and you feel that commitment to excellence in every bite. What makes it even more special is that nearly everything on your plate is grown or produced right on the property itself — vegetables, salami, and so much more. It is farm-to-table in the truest sense of the word. During our wedding weekend, with nearly 100 guests over four days, the kitchen did not miss a single beat. Our guests were raving about the food all weekend long, which is truly the highest compliment I can give. But what elevates Borgo Pignano above any other property we have visited is the staff. They are warm, attentive, and remarkably responsive — and that has been true on every visit, whether we were a couple quietly exploring the property or at the center of a large, complex event. Our wedding required constant coordination between the property team and our external planning team, all while managing the needs of ~100 guests over four days, including two days of exclusive buyout. Despite all of that moving complexity, and even with intermittent rain requiring last-minute adjustments, the staff handled everything with calm professionalism and grace. We also brought our miniature dachshund to the wedding, and the team could not have been more welcoming or accommodating toward her. A small but equally telling example of their hospitality: at our welcome dinner pasta station, a guest mentioned he was gluten free. Staff not only made him a fresh portion on the spot, they then found him in the crowd to personally deliver it. That level of care is not reserved for special occasions — it is simply how Borgo Pignano operates. We are already looking for any excuse to return. Borgo Pignano is simply unlike anywhere else.

My family of 4 (husband, myself, and 2 teenage sons, 13 & 16) enjoyed a magical 3 nights at Borogo Pignano in the Artist’s House Villa. It was a Tuscan dream. Upon arrival from Rome, we were welcomed by the staff in the courtyard for check-in. After welcome cappuccinos (or any drink you wanted), they drove us to The Artist’s house. The Villa had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a lovely country kitchen with anything you could need (even a truffle shaver), and a comfortable living room. The Villa has a private pool, and you get a personal golf cart to drive around. Walking into the art house instantly transported us, with the smell of their home fragrance, to the art on the walls; our senses were calmed. The amenities blew us away, from water and bookmarks on every nightstand to complementary wines made on the property to even an Italian coffee maker on the induction cooktop. We booked the Truffle-hunting experience, and it exceeded expectations after finding 14 black truffles. We were gifted 4 of them and told to bring them with us to meals so they could be shaved on top, especially our breakfast eggs. Before dinner, our first night, my husband and I enjoyed a relaxing swim while our boys made use of the recreation facilities (tennis and basketball courts) We ate at both on-site restaurants, which we reviewed separately. Both excellent. We took advantage of their shuttle service to both San Gimignano and Volterra, which was an excellent way to explore those towns. Unfortunately, we had rain during our stay, but even in non-ideal weather, Borgo Pigano is spectacular. We took the pasta-making class, learned new techniques, and enjoyed a delicious lunch for our hard work. To end our final day before dinner, we enjoyed a tour of the property with Gigi in the spring rain! He took us all over, explaining the history and unique place Borgo Pigano is. Gigi encouraged my husband and I to make a trip to the spa, where we could enjoy the steam and saunas after our wet tour, while our boys went and relaxed at the villa. Every staff member was warmly welcoming and enthusiastic to be part of the Borgo Pigano family. Upon check out, we sent off with such love that I almost cried. If you are looking for a Tuscan experience that restores your soul, Borgo Pigano is the place.
