Suzumaru Hotel

Great location. 20 minutes from the train station, near a lot of places to eat and the local shopping street. The cleanliness was 7/10 there were some hairs on the floor but nothing problematic. Self check in was easy and fast.

The hotel is located on the second floor of an old, worn-down building, and the self check-in process was inconvenient. You need to have your booking number ready, and there was no reception nearby or any easy way to get help, which made the process frustrating. The room and bed were much smaller than shown in the photos, and there was no basin in the bathroom, only one in the unfurnished kitchen.   There was also a strong unpleasant smell coming from the toilet area that circulated through the room with the air conditioner on, which made it hard to sleep. Check-out was just as inconvenient since the booking number was needed again. Overall, the stay was quite disappointing.

I was worried when I saw the reviews that the noise was severe, but it was quiet during the weekend. The blankets and pillows are soft. I wiped the floor and there was almost no stain or dust. The bath tub is cute. The bathroom is right next to the bed, but there was no uncomfortable smell. The bathroom door is cleanly finished with wallpaper. The water pressure is strong enough. In the case of early check-in, it is a little cumbersome to call in advance, but it is very advantageous if you arrive early. It seems that the front staff will be present after 4 o'clock. It was the weekend, but there was no turn-down service and the towels were not replaced, so I was embarrassed. The tissues and rolls of toilet paper provided were enough to stay for three days.

Absolute no. When I checked in, I found hair left on my bed. After pointing that out to the property manager, he started to argue with me claiming that the bed was clean and they had cleaned. But evidently it wasn't. When I showed him numerous hairs on the bedsheets, he just got a vacuum cleaner and just vacuumed the hairs! I asked him to change the sheets, he took the sheets off, went out of the room, and immediately came back holding the same dirty sheets claiming that it was new... The worst experience ever.

It has most things you need from a hotel but I did have some trouble with the self-check in system.
