The hotel enjoys an excellent location, just a left turn from Wakayama Station's central exit. Bus route 42, which stops right outside, offers direct access to Kuroshio Market, making getting around incredibly convenient. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. The moment we stepped out of the elevator, a subtle, pleasant aroma greeted us, instantly elevating our stay experience. Our twin room, thoughtfully designed with separate wet and dry areas, ensured a very comfortable stay. This will undoubtedly be my top choice for accommodation on my next visit to Wakayama.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay. The hotel's location right outside Wakayama Station was incredibly convenient. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly; they even assisted me with shipping my luggage when I checked out. Both the check-in and check-out processes were seamless and excellent. This was hands down the best hotel I stayed at during my entire trip, making my visit to Wakayama truly memorable. My only regret is that my itinerary only allowed for a one-night stay. Next time I'm in Japan, I will definitely come back to Wakayama and stay for several more days.

Wakayama was our first stop on our Japan trip, and we wanted a place with convenient transportation. The hotel is incredibly close to Wakayama Station, just a two-minute walk away. However, getting to Shirahama is a bit far, requiring a 1.5 to 2-hour train ride. There's also a large shopping mall, convenience stores, and food shops nearby, which is very convenient. We arrived at the hotel on our first day around 1 PM. Although official check-in time was 3 PM, the staff kindly allowed us to check in early, which I really appreciated. The other two hotels we stayed at on this trip were quite strict and insisted we wait until 3 PM. We booked a double room. It had excellent natural light and was quite spacious, with a separate bathroom and toilet. A large glass curtain wall offered a fantastic view of Wakayama Castle. Both the service and cleanliness at the hotel were outstanding. What really impressed me was that when we returned from sightseeing during the day, the housekeeping staff had even folded the clothes we'd left on the bed. That was unexpected and incredibly thoughtful. The front desk staff were also very pleasant, always smiling and patiently answering our questions. The only drawback was the lack of an on-site laundry room; we had to take our clothes to a nearby laundromat, which wasn't particularly convenient. However, it also gave us a chance to explore the area. Since Wakayama isn't as popular as cities like Osaka or Kyoto, the streets were mostly free of tourists and very quiet. I recommend taking a stroll around the hotel; it's genuinely relaxing. I highly recommend staying at this hotel; the experience was truly excellent.

Hotel Granvia offers excellent value for money. Its location is superb, just a 7-8 minute walk from the JR Wakayama Station exit, and Kintetsu Department Store is conveniently located right next door. The hotel isn't brand new and doesn't have an on-site laundry facility; you'd need to walk about 15 minutes to find one. However, they offer complimentary tea and coffee in the evenings, and you can also use your room card for complimentary access to the restaurant area, which provides a quiet spot to enjoy the town's peaceful atmosphere.

For my trip to Wakayama, the hotel's location was incredibly convenient. It's just a 5-minute walk from JR Wakayama Station's central exit, and with bus stops right downstairs, it makes catching the Tama Train, exploring Wakayama's attractions, and even connecting to places like Kuromon Market, super easy. The breakfast spread was quite generous, and the price was very reasonable. All in all, highly recommended! 👍

Overall, a very mediocre hotel. It's quite old and feels cramped; the rooms are truly tiny. While the location is decent, the rooms are on the small side and the facilities feel a bit dated. Soundproofing is poor, and we could easily hear hallway noise at night. Breakfast options were limited and the food was unremarkable. Service was just adequate. Overall, it doesn't offer good value for money.

The day I checked in, I received some bad news from home, which immediately put me in a very low mood. However, a Chinese-speaking gentleman at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. He thoroughly explained everything, suggested places for us to visit, and even proactively arranged for us to stay on the 7th floor after noticing my husband smoked. What's more, he allowed us to check in early, even before the official check-in time. His kindness made me feel incredibly welcomed and comforted in a foreign land. Thank you all so much.

The hotel is perfectly situated right next to Wakayama Station, with a shopping mall just next door. The large supermarket on the ground floor of the mall is incredibly well-stocked. The surrounding area boasts a plethora of restaurants, making dining and grabbing a drink incredibly convenient. Wakayama Castle is only about two kilometers away, offering a pleasant walk where you can take in the city sights along the way. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-maintained, ensuring a very comfortable stay.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, just a one-minute walk to the right from JR Wakayama Station's exit. A department store right next door with a large supermarket and many food options on its B1 floor was a huge plus. The room was a comfortable size – not too big, not too small – with ample space to open my luggage. It was spotlessly clean, and complimentary mineral water was a thoughtful touch. Service was also excellent. However, probably because it was summer vacation and a weekend, the price exceeded 1000, so it wasn't particularly cheap.

We landed at 8 PM, boarded the JR at 8:40 PM, and reached Wakayama Station by 10 PM. The hotel's location was incredibly convenient – just about 100 meters to the right after exiting the central gate. The receptionist was Chinese, exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which really helped us relax after a long day of travel. They also provided us with a local map and recommended places where we could still find yakitori at that late hour. The room was relatively spacious, and having triple rooms is genuinely convenient for families traveling together. However, the breakfast, which came highly recommended by others, set my expectations a bit too high. Personally, I found it relatively simple with limited choices, though it was sufficient to fill you up.

All the facilities and services are good. And the location are convenient.

Great location, right next to Wakayama Station and in the same building with Kintetsu Department Store. Room is pretty clean. There is a guest lounge with free coffee and tea.

The room is a bit too small and crammy for a couple, however the standard of service, quality of cleaning and room amenities are beyond criticism. Perhaps should have booked a bigger room
