Stayed at the Waldshuter Hof hotel for one night and picked it based on location (middle of the old town) and reasonable price (EUR 60 for a one-person room). Room was small and under the roof, had not been renovated in quite a while (old carpet, old bathroom). At least it was clean and functional, which made for an OK stay at an OK price. Internet worked well (no password needed), staff was friendly.

Every few years we've had occasion to stay at this lovely hotel on Waldshut's vehicle free town/market square. I suspect not many Americans visit this town on the Rhine river, a stone's throw from Switzerland. We do because we have family in the area. The Waldshuter Hof has been around for years, with comfortable, clean rooms and a fine restaurant. If you're driving there's a convenient parking garage just behind the hotel. A recent stay confirmed how much we like this simple welcoming property. Rooms over the square will pick up noise, as voices carry up, but we find it, oh I don't know, kind of communal. The breakfast buffet is fairly extensive with plenty of breads, cheese, meat, eggs, fruit and so on. For value and comfort -- but certainly not luxury -- it's the place to stay in Waldshut.

Einfach nur schlecht! Empfang war unfreundlich, unfähig, einfach für nichts. Frühstück ist schlecht, ich würde nie wieder dahin gehen. Mir wurde mehrfach versichert, dass alles klappt beim Einchecken - und geklappt hat nichts! Sehr unfähige Leute…

Das Zimmer war nicht zur Fußgängerzone, sondern an der Gebäude-Rückseite. Nachteil: bei geöffnetem Fenster war an Schlaf nicht zu denken und bei geschlossenem Fenster staute sich die Wärme. Das Bett war okay, die Möbel etwas altbacken.

Gebucht als Ausgangs-und Ankunftshotel für eine mehrtägige Wanderung auf dem Albsteig. Auto konnte in der Tiefgarage stehen bleiben (fragen Sie nach dem Schlüssel zum Öffnen des Eingang!), sehr gutes Frühstück und leckere Abendmenüs (3 Gänge zu 25,00 für Hotelgäste!) Eingang liegt in der Fußgängerzone, so dass erst eingecheckt werden muss, bevor man in die Garage kann
