An impossibly beautiful enclave of beauty nestled in the rolling Thurgau countryside. We stayed in the design room with our dog for three nights. The food is incredibly fresh. The staff are friendly and attentive. This place evokes the best of its minimalist monastic roots with everything you need and nothing you don’t! One of the best experiences we have enjoyed in Switzerland (and my wife and I have traveled a lot). We will be back. Thank you to the chef and all the staff!

Nice clean rooms and good breakfast in a former monastery, but unfortunately the place has lost its religious aura and spirituality; it has been transformed into a secular center where various groups offer educational courses. Rooms had less wood and more concrete than expected. The church had strict opening hours and was only accessible with a museum ticket. Definitely not a place inviting for meditation or prayer, as it had been intended when it was built. Electric cars can be charged at cost if you bring your own cable.

Bei lauten Zimmernachbarn ist es unmöglich Ruhe zu finden, es ist alles hörbar, sehr ringhörig. Die Gartenzimmer sind schön und clever gestaltet. Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend, Abendessen fein, eher teuer und teils Bedienung im Restaurant sogar frech. Als Ruhe- und Kraftort empfinden wir es nicht, das Konzept gut, auch die ganze Anlage ist riesig und beeindruckend.

Ziemlich beschämend, eine Künstlerin, die mit dem aktuellen russischen Regime ausser der Staatsangehörigkeit nichts zu tun, so auszuladen. Gleichzeitig wirbt die Kartause Ittingen auf Ihrer Website: "Hier verbinden sich auf einzigartige Weise klösterliche Werte wie Kultur, Spiritualität, Bildung, Fürsorge, Gastfreundschaft und Selbstversorgung."

Wir waren im Mai 2021 4 Nächte in der Kartause Ittingen, in einem Designzimmer. Ambience: wunderbarer Piazzacharakter umringt von den verschiedenen Gebäuden. Es herrscht ein wunderbares emsiges Treiben, da macht es richtig Spass zuzusehen. Zimmer: Designzimmer, sehr sauber und gepflegt. In einem historischen Nebengebäude. Funktional allerdings unglücklich eingerichtet. Service: Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, professionell. Essen: auch während Covid sehr gut organisiert. Die Küche ist geprägt von den Lebensmittel, die selber angebaut werden. Hervorragend gekocht und sehr freundlich serviert. Alle 4 Essen waren perfekt, Preis: ok, der Gegenwert stimmt bestens Fazit: sehr empfelenswert. Preis/Leistung stimmt absolut und die Ambience ist einzigartig.

Eine Nacht in der Kartause hat leider nicht gereicht, alles zu entdecken, das dieser tolle Ort zu bieten hat. Die Klosteranlage bietet unglaublich viel, schöne Gärten. Man darf den Foxtrail nicht verpassen, der einen an noch verstecktere Orte führt. Das Deluxe-Familienzimmer hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Frühstück hat eine grosse Auswahl und ist unvergesslich.

Kurzer aber sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt anlässlich meines Geburtstages. Haben eine erholsame Pause gemacht mit feinem Ueberraschungs-Nachtessen. Das Zimmer im Oberen Gästehaus war einfach aber zweckmässig eingerichtet. Schönes, vermutlich kürzlich renoviertes Bad. Alles absolut einwandfrei und empfehlenswert.
