Arc Hotel Washington DC, Georgetown

The hotel's location is in a simple area, but it's well-equipped with basic facilities. The lobby on the ground floor has a small shop selling snacks, coffee, and milk, plus a microwave. However, the hotel's service needs improvement. I've stayed here twice. The first time, there was only one bottle of water in the room, and the front desk said they only provide one. The second time, there were two bottles. The service management definitely needs to be enhanced.

This was my second stay at this hotel because I had such a comfortable experience the first time. There are so many free museums to explore in Washington that you can't even see them all in three or four days! I rebooked this hotel and it was just as clean and comfortable as before. I love it!

The air conditioner in the room was very loud, making intermittent 'whooshing' noises that were sometimes startlingly noisy. The Wi-Fi service was genuinely unusable. I went to the front desk and told them I was entering the correct password, but it still didn't work, and they couldn't help me either. Everything else was pretty good.

The room was pretty good, clean and spacious. Public transportation (buses and subway) was convenient, and there's a Whole Foods nearby for breakfast. The only downside is the $64 per day parking fee. You can download SpotHero to reserve a parking garage in advance.

On the morning of our departure, we were rushing to catch a train. After checking out at the front desk, we were about to leave when the guy at the front desk called us back. He told us to insert our bank card into a machine, assuring us no money would be deducted. We thought it was to facilitate the deposit refund, so we did it, which wasted several minutes and made us switch to an Uber to the station 😓. While waiting for the Uber, we discovered that the machine had directly deducted the room fees for our stay, even though Ctrip had already charged us that same morning. This meant we were charged twice! We went back to inquire, but the front desk guy said he had no time, pushed open the tiny lobby door, jumped into a car that was already waiting outside, and drove off. At the same time, our Uber was arriving, so we had no choice but to get in. We've tried to contact the hotel afterward, but it's been 7 days and we still haven't received a reply. This place is a rip-off! 😡 What's even stranger is that to buy something at their mini-mart in the lobby, you need to enter a PIN, but paying for a much larger room fee requires no such thing!

It seems that discrimination against Chinese people is unavoidable, no matter how polite you are. The environment is still good, and the rooms are large.

The soundproofing in the room was terrible. Four people checked into the room next door and were talking loudly from midnight until morning, making it impossible to sleep. This was the worst experience I've had while traveling in the US.

It was great that there was a Whole Foods nearby. I was surprised by how expensive the water was.
