Hotel Hive

Even though the rooms are smaller (but plenty big enough!), Hotel Hive provided everything we needed for our stay in DC. We were able to eat breakfast in the morning, have a light dinner (pizza 😊) and drinks at night, and were in close enough proximity to everything we wanted to see that we could walk everywhere. It was also a short 10-15 minute walk to the Metro (to get us to and from the airport or to places that were farther away than we wanted to walk) and had bikes and scooters that could be rented just around the corner as well. We found Hotel Hive fit our needs perfectly and would definitely stay there again as well as recommend it to friends.

The hotel is super clean, basic but has exactly everything you need, beds are really comfortable. It has a nice pizza restaurant where you can get breakfast too and in the morning complimentary tean and coffee. The location is fantastic only 15min from the white house and lion memorial. Really good value, would definitely stay again. Tip if you get there after 7pm parking on the street is free till 7am. Then you can just pay for a few hours street parking.

The room was very clean and bright. The location is also great, you can access some popular places for about 30min walk.

Fantastic central location near White House and walking distance to all the historical attractions.  The staff were so amazing, along with the comfortable and restful room!

We stayed here for 2 nights (July 22-23)The location is excellent, just a short walk to George Washington University and other peaceful parks, and convenient to Capital Hill. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit old, but it offers good value for staying in DC. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

This was my first trip to Washington, DC, and I booked this hotel in advance because the location looked great and I was able to get a really good discounted price. Although the room was listed as having a queen bed, it honestly felt more like a double or full-size bed. I was also disappointed that the room didn’t have a microwave or refrigerator. However, the biggest issue was how dusty the room was. I think it was the first time in my life that I sneezed more than 50 times in a single day. It bothered me throughout the entire trip, and constantly dealing with a runny nose made me even more tired. I eventually had to go to CVS and buy allergy medicine. I chose this hotel mainly because of the price, but if I visit DC again, I would probably pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Most places are still easily connected by metro through Google Maps anyway, so getting around the city and visiting tourist attractions isn’t difficult at all. That said, the front desk staff were friendly, and the location was convenient, so I would still recommend it for solo travelers. However, if you’re traveling with two or more people, I would suggest booking a better room than the one I stayed in, even if it costs more.

One of a kind! Great location (right next to GWU! and subway station), really friendly staff, neat room with customized decor. All in all highly recommend!

I stayed in the hotel hive in the middle of the February. There was no hot water for shower, so I took a cold shower in the 1st night;  It was cold in February, I called the front desk to request a kettle and a couple of tea bags to make hot tea. ( it is the way how the hotel hives operates : you need make requests). A kettle was delivered to my room without any tea bag, the front desk said all the tea bags were gone. This is my first time and probably the last time to stay in  hotel hive, I don’t think the $400+ is worth what you received!
