Wyndham Garden Wenchang Nanguo

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, like a large garden. Although it's a bit out of the way, it's not an issue for those driving, and you get to enjoy the entire beach exclusively. It's especially great for clam digging without the crowds. We stayed for two days and saw two glorious golden sunrises. The breakfast variety was decent, and they even offered local specialties. There's also a book bar and a large swimming pool, so you could easily spend a whole day at the hotel without needing to leave.

The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, helped with our luggage, and recommended local restaurants. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are spacious and well-situated, offering sunrise views. It's clean and parking is convenient.

I arrived at the hotel quite late, so after checking in, I went straight to the hotel restaurant for dinner. I also squeezed in a quick swim; the pool is huge and has staff supervision all day – the lifeguard was really friendly! The room was super comfortable, and to my surprise, there were cute towel animals! That's usually something you only get for a good tip when traveling abroad, haha. Plus, there was a dehumidifier in the room! It definitely made things feel more comfortable.

This stay completely exceeded my expectations. I had originally planned a last-minute overnight stay, attracted by the laundry facilities (which were indeed clean, with complimentary packaged detergent and Siemens washer-dryer sets). Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded my room and explained all the complimentary activity vouchers. The complimentary afternoon tea and rainbow boat ride were excellent and not at all a token gesture; my child absolutely loved them. The 'buy one get one free' snack at Starbucks was the icing on the cake! The main reason I'm writing this review is the incredibly good value kids' club service. I highly recommend it to families with children, especially the half-day program (we could only do half a day due to our schedule), which offered an excellent experience! Coach Daxia was incredibly versatile, leading children in a wide range of activities: paddleboarding, surfing, climbing, coconut harvesting, sand crab catching, feeding small animals... During afternoon tea, I even saw him making balloon animals as a clown! With him, the children were never bored! Building A of the hotel is filled with bookshelves everywhere, even by the sofa in the laundry room, so bookworms won't get bored either. As for food, we mostly ate at the hotel: the coconut chicken was super delicious! And I finally got to try the highly anticipated vinegar-dregs lobster hotpot!

The staff were all very welcoming and proactive in offering help. We also had butler service. The room was spacious, though the bed creaked a bit when I turned over, but it didn't affect my sleep. Breakfast was decent, with good cheese and coffee options.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel's pool is large and very nice. Right outside the hotel pool is a beach, a shingle beach where you can find many colorful shells and conchs, which is quite unique and I found a lot of them.

The room was great, clean and hygienic, and very quiet. I could see the sea from my room. The pool water was warm, so it wasn't cold to swim at night. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic. The beach isn't really suitable for swimming though.

The service was proactive, with a butler contacting us in advance to understand our needs, which was excellent. Breakfast offered local specialties; while there weren't many hot dishes, the overall uniqueness stood out. The service was good, and the hotel environment was pleasant.

Great for families with kids; the children had a blast in the pool, and the beach isn't far. The hotel also offers many family-friendly activities.
