The Lamb Inn

We had our elopement wedding at the lamb inn and had a wonderful time. Great first impressions it is a homely, welcoming inn, in a beautiful village. Nick and Vikky were absolutely great as hosts and wedding witnesses. Even filming our special day for us. We couldn't of asked for better hospitality. From all the bar staff also. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, best burger and chocolate brownie me and my now husband, have ever tasted! . We will be back in the future for sure Thankyou Nick and Vikky Xx

This is a lovely old pub. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had an evening meal which was superb. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the room (room 3) was freezing. I can appreciate that it’s difficult to heat an old building, I live in one myself. The person who checked us in was surprised at how cold the room was on arrival but told us the heating would come on and was underground. It didn’t,. the thermostat only reached 13 degrees. There was a small blow heater in the room which managed to Get the heating up to 16 degrees. However, that’s not a comfort heat to relax in. Such a shame, as this spoilt what could have been a great stay. We did mention this problem on departure, so maybe this will be looked at.

Booked two nights for friends funeral at local church -unfortunately my wife's mother fell ill-had to cancel by email within 48 hrs-tried several times to ring to discuss-no answer . Found on credit card bill charged for full rate including breakfast -no communication at all

The Reception and the service we had was excellent The Food menu had great quality and choices including Gluten free Menu available. The Bar served Gluten free on draft beers. The whole experience we found was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere Patrick & Elizabeth

We had our wedding day at the Lamb Inn in Sandford on Friday 1st Sept 2023. We cannot rate this place highly enough and would rate it 10 out of 5 for every aspect if we could! From the first contact with Nick and Vicky to our goodbyes after the wedding it was just perfection. We wanted a laid back wedding, with some formalities and traditions and that’s exactly what we got. Nick and Vicky reassured us that no question or request would be deemed as silly and they would do their best to accommodate us and we instantly felt at ease. We were able to decorate the Dorwich room ourselves and we had our day as we dreamed of without rules and restrictions being placed on us. Vicky was a superstar, in ‘hosting’ our day. She remembered all the small details that were really important to us and was there when we needed her, without being intrusive. The food and drink was phenomenal, memorably enjoyed by our guests both with a plainer and those with a more adventurous palate. We opted for the sharing platters, which were plentiful - our guests could eat as much or as little as they wanted. The two children we had as guests (included a gluten free child) were accommodated for well and the one vegetarian had a choice of their meal in advance. The venue itself was perfect and quaint. Fortunately the sun shone on us on our day and we had our ceremony outside on the stage, with our guests in the pub garden, but even plan ‘b’ (inside the pub) would have been great too. We stayed the night in the garden room, which was comfortable, luxurious, well equipped (even with a sturdy hook to hang a wedding dress from) . We used the room as a getting ready area and also where the ‘bridal party walk began from. We can not recommend The Lamb Inn highly enough. We, and all our guests ranging from 8 to 86 years had a great time. Thank you to Nick and Vicky and the other staff who made our wedding day all we dreamed of and more.

although quite local had never been to sanford so thought we would give it a try. so glad we did. we had sunday lunch in this really olde worlde pub in sanford.. the sunday lunch was the best we have had in a long long time. amazing quality- we had beef, perfectly cooked, generous portions with piping hot veg, yorkshire puddings and delicious gravy. to follow lemon curd pavlova with pistacios would definitely be back and recommend to anyone

Fabulous pub with very welcoming staff- the Lamb is full of character and I would highly recommend it.

Another great stay at The Lamb Inn. We try and get over this way twice a year, and the welcome is always fantastic. The room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable and the food was excellent Looking forward to our next visit when we can bring our dog as well
