Premier Inn Edinburgh A1 (Musselburgh)

Very far from the city centre. Need to take the taxi to the nearest station or to the city centre. Hotel is decent, but wouldn’t stay here again because of the location.

hotel was well located for our needs, rooms were spacious and clean. catering/restaurant was fair , a bit shabby but food was good and staff friendly

Place was good and clean. As we don’t drive location was not really good for us though there was bus stop near to the place. It would be fine if there was no holidays, but since we went on new years there was no bus on that day and having an early flight we have to go before sunrise and there was no streetlight at all, it was scary. I guess we just booked it at the wrong time of the year, unless you drive it would be a good place to stay.

I have stayed in numerous Premier inns over the years and this one is very poor. The rooms are very tired with lights not working, carpets not hoovered to the point there were toe nail clippings on my carpet. The restaraunt is very poor, one bar man run off his feet and one waitress who could only seem to be able to carry one plate at a time and with a busy dinning room , don’t expect to be served quickly. I waited 3/4 of an hour for a very disappointing meal. They also have a habit of closing the Kitchen meaning you then need to get back in your car and drive back into Musselburgh for something to eat. The car park, don’t get me started. There are signs up saying no large vehicles beyond this point when you drive in only to be met with what looks like a building site car park with every size van you could think of. This means if you are not there by 5pm you are parking at the other side of the hotel grounds.

Unfortunately we booked here for a wedding near by and then we were told a few days before we came that there was basically no facilities. No food, no bar and the rooms were very un a peeling. Will not come here again.

Booked in May and paid for breakfast both days, arrived & were told we wouldn't get breakfast as the restaurant is now closed. One towel in a room for 2 people for 2 nights. USB sockets didn't work. Overall very disappointed.

Typical premier inn really. In the middle of nowhere just off the A1. Nothing nearby of note but a small housing estate. Still a good 25 minutes to the airport. Was a reasonable price nearby to Edinburgh due to the Fringe fest though. Attached to a small Brewers Fayre which we were told is shutting down, we had breakfast which was probably the worst Premier Inn breakfast we've had but im assuming this is to the Brewers Fayre closing. Rooms pretty comfy and showers decent. Had a good nights sleep.
