Phoned reception at dinner time to see if we could book in as food stops at 2.30pm ( yes no problem) so we made our way to the restaurant, what an amazing place steeped in history, the owner later showed us around the hotel rooms , again amazing. What i would say is to people who think the Lake District & its hotels & restaurants end at Keswick go a bit further and you will find a gem of a place, with lovely food and drinks , at not Lake District rip off prices, very reasonable for that part of the world, make the trip you won’t be disappointed, and the hotel rooms are probably 4 times the size you would get in Keswick, and the prices are what the premier inn would charge in the summertime, You need to bust & stay at this place , you would be a fool not to . Enjoy
