AC Hotel Wichita Downtown

The location turned out to be horrible. My room was on the 2nd floor and the street traffic was extremely noisy. Vehicles were racing their engines so it sounded like they were street racing well past 1am. And then the noises started again early Sunday morning so I finally got up at 6 am. There were no coffee cups in my room and the tray with the coffee maker was too high for me to reach anyway. The bed was as so close to the window side you had to crawl onto the bed to grab the curtain to close it; and then crawl back to the open area. I don’t know how any one can make that bed. And why is there only valet parking or you have to find street parking on our own? Won’t stay here again or suggest it to anyone.

Breakfast was good the area was nice and clean. The only thing I would say is that there were very loud noises into the night. The motor cycles and loud cars and trucks racing there cars up and down the street. It was really too much and affected your overall rest. Other than that it was a really good stay.

Spacious room, on-site restaurant, walking distance to attractions, entertainment, and eateries. Valet parking

The room was clean, but small and weirdly laid out. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a good nights stay but I’ll be honest, I probably wouldn’t stay there again. The parking situation was disappointing, valet parking only with no parking garage unless I wanted to walk a block or park in the street, but I blame myself for not checking that before hand. There’s no free breakfast in the morning, and the available buffet is the same as any other hotel but you’ll pay $15 for it. It’s a good stay, but investigate it before staying.

Front desk was very friendly! However the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate, somebody got stuck in the elevator for over an hour and had to be rescued by firefighters, valet was backed up into the street several times we had to park, and nobody cleaned our room/replaced towels while we were there Friday-Sunday.

Room was small. The shower and toilet was in same small room. The bar had very limited options. The breakfast was limited and cold, for the price. It was an expensive continental breakfast. My vehicle was broken into and the managers of both the hotel and valet never got back with me for several days. I’m actually still waiting for a response from the valet or hotel.

Easy walking distance to the marathon! Convenient. Very loud! Traffic like crazy outside our room until 3:30 am. Bathroom engineering is terrible, no privacy. Room setup just strange and not convenient. Expensive breakfast, especially for a family where most hotels have the very same food complimentary. Expensive parking. We will choose a different place to stay when we come back to Wichita.

The room was pretty and spacious, and I didn’t realize it only opened this year! The breakfast spread was awesome. I think it was overall a really awesome deal for the service they provide. Would come back again!!

Tasty breakfast, beautiful lobby, great location This is a brand new hotel in a refurbished historic building. Loved how they restored and highlighted the original entrance foyer and created a tastefully modern lobby and restaurant area next to it. Their $16 ‘European’ breakfast spread is probably the best I’ve ever had in a hotel for that price. Two made to order hot dishes available + a thoughtfully selected cold buffet including top notch cheeses and cold cuts, fresh fruit, yoghurt parfaits, etc. All staff members were exceptionally friendly, especially Sandy at the front desk and Alexis at breakfast. As far as the rooms, I was surprised by how much street noise can be heard on the lower floors in spite of double glazed windows (I assume the old building’s walls and insulation are the problem), but this was solved after Sandy kindly moved me to a room on the top floor. Clean, comfortable, functional although decoration (or lack thereof) plus a very bland color palette for everything from walls to furniture does make one feel like in a hospital room.
