The Windsor Trooper is an 18th century public house and inn, with 9 cosy rooms to welcome you. Just a short walk from the town centre as well as the castle it is the perfect location to stay whether you’re sightseeing, having a mini break or here for business, being in the heart of the residential part of town, The Windsor Trooper provides the best of everything Windsor has to offer. The Windsor Trooper is one of the most popular pubs in town, you’ll be presented with a warm welcome before sitting down to have a drink in the pub or wonderful sun trap garden. The bar stocks a fabulous selection of ales, traditional cider, a wide choice of Belgian beers, a fine wine selection and a large batch of gins, there is literally something for everyone. The Trooper also hosts live music every Thursday as well as a quiz night on the last Wednesday of each month. You’ll be hard-pushed to find a better atmosphere in Windsor. Please note the Pub opens daily from 11am. We are proud winners of the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead CAMRA Real Cider Pub of the Year 2022 & 2023, we consistantly have 10 Tradional Ciders available so when you visit why not try them out for yourself and see why we’re the best around! All rooms at the Trooper have private entrances, they all have ensuite shower rooms with toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and TV. The 2 bedroom apartment is ideal for a Family with young children, due to it's layout the apartment is not recommended for 4 adults. Reasonably priced paid parking can be found nearby, we do not have storage for bicycles.Show More

Excellent value for a simple, pleasant, clean and surprisingly quiet en suite double room less than 15 minutes walk from the castle. Helpful, unfussy welcome in a nice local pub too. Access via separate stairway at side of pub so no problems on coming and going. Check in for us was after 3 and check out " just leave the keys in the room" was by 11 am.

Great! The area was nice and it’s a steal for the price! The staff was nice and the room was clean. It was nice and quiet and a good view from the top floors. I would suggest you stay here if you don’t plan on breakfast being provided for you. There are many stores around.

We stayed overnight and had a reunion drink in the hall at back of the pub. As usual the Trooper covered all our expectations with the accommodation very comfortable, adequate and the perfect ‘can do’ hosting at our do. The Trooper is a short walk from town centre and parking is a little issue but not a major inconvenience as there are parking spots close by. As an ex- Windsor resident it will always be my go- place and there plenty of places to go to for breakfast nearby. Top marks from me, thank you James and team and see you again soon

Great little hotel in the heart of Windsor. The rooms are small & pretty basic but they’ve got all the important things right. The bedding & towels were clean & fresh, the bathroom was clean with all facilities working. There was coffee/tea/hairdryer/extra pillows etc The staff were helpful & welcoming. The pub is cosy with a log fire and only a 10 min walk from the castle There’s a few pubs close by but plenty more places to eat and drink as you get closer to the castle. We went as 4 friends sharing a twin & a double and couldn’t fault it for the money. We stayed in the room right above and couldn’t hardly hear the pub downstairs.

We hired the backroom for my daughters 21st birthday. Amazing from start to finish. All the staff were fantastic the food supplied was great lots of it at a good price. Couldn't have got a better place to hold party it was just perfect for what we needed. We was allowed to decorate Hall in the day and clear the next day. The brilliant staff had cleared so didn't need to go and tidy THANKU THANKU THANKU

This place is in a great location with excellent hosts. The room was quirky but very comfortable and had all the necessary acco***imenets and despite being by the pub, very quiet. The pub itself is very popular and the drinks are reasonably priced with a number of real ales and ciders; even better if you're a CAMRA member!! One of the best things here is the support for local independent businesses, with a coffee and light snack provider in the mornings and various food suppliers in the evenings; the pizza van is reasonably priced and highly recommended. Thursday evening was heaving with superb music from a solo artist.

Fantastic stay for the 6 of us! Lovely clean accomodation, pristine bedding and towels, tastefully decorated, plenty tea and coffee, and bargain price at £25 each per night!! Bargain stay in Windsor!!

I called in for Sunday lunch....very friendly staff as always. The first meal came out with almost raw cauliflower with cold cheese sauce, cold soggy carrots and almost raw cale.I asked for it to be re served....it came back microwaved to death now a rubbery meal with gravy just tasting of beer... I ate it because I was hungry but boy did it sit heavy on my stomach. Shame because the last time I called in for a Sunday roast a few years ago it was simply the best.

Stayed for 1 night in one of these rooms - never again. Very uncomfortable beds, dusty cushions ( not needed as there is no where to sit). Shower head dirty & so water only trickled out. So bad we left early hours of the morning. Only writing this so that no one else has to suffer
