I needed a hotel close to Langford vets and this one was so affordable that honestly I was a bit nervous! However, my stay was excellent. Minutes from the vets, comfy beds, very clean overall, and refreshments including milk sachets. The wifi was also very good: I needed to do telecons and other remote work while I was there and had zero problems. I'm VERY noise-sensitive but it was also nice and quiet apart from a few voices and some very brief banging. Maybe I just didn't have next door neighbours, I can't say, but I would definitely stay there again.
Minor issues:
1) Check-in only starts at 4:30pm and is 'contactless' (you get a message "after 4:30pm" letting you know how to access a key and the front door). I booked last minute so when 4:32pm came with no message I was getting worried I hadn't been noticed and called leaving a voicemail. But the message arrived [an email] at 4:37pm. I left another voicemail apologizing for my worry, but the owner kindly came to check I'd got in all right :)
2) It was a bit chilly at night, and - as with most hotels in August it seems - the radiators were turned off. I borrowed the duvet from the other bed and was fine, but would have been a bit cold otherwise.
SUGGESTIONS TO THE OWNER: 1) Give a time range for sending out the check-in information (e.g., "between 4:30 and 4:45pm") so people don't start to worry and pester you! 2) Have a way for guests to request a heater, or provide one with the room; it's cosy so will heat up fast :)
