We had the best experience ever. We went for sunday lunch, and we are from london we were visiting family, they took us to the wroxeter hotel which is a wedding venue and they do sunday lunchs and afternoon teas. The food was excellent we had beef, salmon, lamb and turkey, and all of us were impressed how good it was, the dessesrts we had cheesecake and eton mess and once again it was really good. Service we had Nunu (dont know if im spelling the correct way), what an amazing experience that he gave us, attentive, knowledgeable, nothing was too much for him, very profissional and a smile always on his face, i can tell you that was an amazing experience so i want to thank you the wroxeter hotel but specially to the chef and Nunu.

First of all, the hotel and the grounds are a fantastic venue for a wedding, which is why we were here. BUT... for the room we had, it was overpriced at £130 a night and that was the standard price, not just because it was a wedding (not sure if it was discounted). We had 2 single beds in the room, despite booking a double room. We would've pushed the beds together, however, they were separated by a nightstand that was screwed into the wall. I've been to hotels all around Europe and not had that. Next, the plug socket for the kettle was broken, the switch was broken and the broken piece was left by the kettle. We didn't use this so it didn't really affect us but it was poor nonetheless. Next, the window was useless as the handle was broken so it didn't lock properly, which is surely a security issue. Lastly, the WIFI. It really does depend on the room you're in. The first room, it was awful but the second was faultless. We raised the bed issue with managment and they did switch our rooms (which I will discuss below) but they were perplexed when we mentioned that the nightstand was screwed in, surely they should know this ? The room we moved to was infinitely better. Double bed, better TV position & bigger size. Overall, the venue is great as a wedding location but avoid staying here, just stay in Shrewsbury.

Today we visited for lunch, it was fabulous, we were greeted and made to feel welcome, our meal was excellent, carrot soup was tasty and hot, main course was delicious, lamb with all the extras, dessert Eton mess was unique and scrumptious. All perfectly executed and presented. The service through out was first class and nothing too much trouble. A wonderful family lunch.

Attended for high tea as this was purchased for us by a family member The sandwich were made with cheap supermarket bread with very poor and unappealing sandwiches The selection of cakes were non adventurous and bland, the homemade scones lacked flavour and fluffiness, just tasted of stodge and baking powder I had a cup of tea and didn't eat anything as it was unappealing and bland We could not communicate this as nobody attended the table after the delivery of food, hence nothing was committed We just left If I was paying for it, I would have refused If you want a poor high tea and NOT value for money please go here If you want flavour, good quality local ingredients and something special, avoid

We had booked to have afternoon tea at 3pm but was told, on arrival, that there had been a mix up and they would seat us as soon as possible. We then saw them laying up 4 tables in a back room, with no windows, taking flowers from tables laid up for a wedding reception in a different room and bringing them through the room to our 'experience.' It was supposed to be a special birthday treat but the room we were taken to was terrible. No windows, poorly lit and really made to feel like second class citizens. Food was actually very nice but the experience was not one I would wish to repeat.

Just been for their Winter Afternoon Tea. We were pleased to have been given a voucher for Afternoon Tea. What a fantastic spread it was! We were greeted and shown to our table and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. The tea was then presented to us comprising of a small glass of warm soup (lovely surprise), some sandwiches and a couple of pigs in blankets. This was then followed by scone, jam and cream, a mincemeat tartlet and a chocolate brownie. All in all a superb spread! We couldn’t eat everything, so they packed up what we had left and said we could take it home. We were treated exceptionally and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a lovely meal.

We had a memorable wedding day for all the right reasons. The staff at The Wroxeter Hotel went above and beyond what we were expecting. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food was amazing. The staff were friendly and obliging. Photographic opportunities were plenty. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay at and/or have it as a wedding venue.

Visited at the weekend for a surprise birthday Afternoon Tea for myself and a large group of friends and family. Food was delicious and plentiful. Beautifully made sandwiches to suit all tastes. Huge scones with generous bowls of cream and jam. The most amazing decorated cakes and scummiest puds in plant pots. All set in gorgeous surroundings in a garden room with views of the grounds and the Wrekin. Not to forget the Huge pots of tea and coffee on the tastefully decorated table. Some of the family returned in the evening for a delicious three course festive dinner which included turkey and all the trimmings for most of the party . The wonderful attentive staff that day were Mel, Jen , Chai and Steve and I send them my thanks for a beautiful afternoon and evening at the Wroxeter.
