Xuegu Xinxuan Inn (at the China Xuegu Scenic Area)

Stayed here for two nights, and it was a fantastic B&B. The room was clean and warm; even though it was below -20 degrees Celsius outside, I only needed to wear a single layer indoors. The proprietress's cooking was delicious and generous. We arrived after 10 PM, and she still cooked for us. The next day, the owner took us to the rime forest and arranged various snow activities, which were super fun and an unforgettable experience. He even took photos and videos for us. If I get the chance to visit Xuegu again, I'll definitely choose to stay here.

I stayed for four days and three nights, and overall, the accommodation experience was great. Regarding the room: The room was cleaned very thoroughly, and the bed linens were changed frequently. Disposable toiletries were provided. The room was spacious enough to comfortably lay out all my luggage. When booking, it's important to note that not all rooms come with private bathrooms. Rooms with private bathrooms have smart toilets with a heating function. Regarding the service: If there were any attractions I wanted to visit, the owner would help arrange transportation. For shorter trips, the owner would even personally lead the tour, with a well-planned schedule and even take photos and videos. Overall impression: Xuegu (Snow Valley) and Xuexiang (Snow Town) each have their unique characteristics. Xuegu is less crowded and has only been developed in recent years, so the town feels more rustic and original. Xuexiang is more developed and commercialized. Both places have their own appeal. Personally, I don't like crowds, so Xuegu was a better experience for me. Wusongling (Rime Ridge) was a lot of fun, especially when the rime was out and the sun was shining; the scenery was absolutely beautiful. All the photos I took of the owner's guesthouse had people in them, so I can only share some photos of Wusongling.

The room was not only clean but also very spacious, making for a very comfortable stay! The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. They took us to make Bingtanghulu (candied hawthorn), played with us doing 'splashing water into ice' and 'fiery trees and silver flowers,' and the owner is an amazing photographer who captured some fantastic shots! They accompanied us throughout our stay, making it so much fun! I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

This guesthouse truly feels like a home away from home. The owner, a wonderful woman, cooks incredibly delicious food – it reminds me of my mom's cooking! The guesthouse owner also accompanied us on our walk through the Rime Forest. And the elderly gentleman at the guesthouse is simply adorable! We got to experience making sugar-coated hawthorns from scratch, and in the evening, there was a '潑水成冰' (water splashing into ice) activity, which we could do countless times, taking photos and videos until we were perfectly satisfied with the results! We also got to experience a traditional Northeast Chinese 'kang' (heated bed), and the mattress on it was so comfortable, not at all unpleasant. The pillows and quilts were excellent too! The guesthouse even provides traditional Northeast floral pattern clothing for guests to wear and take photos. They've also set up an ice slide outside for some fun. In the evening, the owner even drove us to a disco in Xuegu (Snow Valley)! I wholeheartedly recommend Xinxuan Inn to anyone planning to stay in Xuegu!

The owner was very welcoming. The natural, rustic environment here offered a much better experience than Snow Town. Vehicle arrangements? Just contact the owner, and they'll sort everything out. Wusongling was so much fun and completely fulfilled our expectations for snow as "southern potatoes"!

The B&B is absolutely beautiful! Outside, there are Christmas trees and lit-up tents, perfect for photos. You can even catch the sunset right outside the door. The owner is super friendly and can take you up the mountain for some fun, and they even have traditional Northeast 'big floral' padded jackets for photo ops. It really boosts your mood! Highly recommend!

The room was very clean, had a private bathroom, and the window view was also good. The large heated bed (kang) was warm and soft at night, not at all uncomfortable. The owners were very enthusiastic and even offered free guided tours up the mountain. The proprietress's cooking was especially delicious 😋😋😋. When I mentioned wanting candied hawthorns (bing tang hu lu), she immediately made a large plate of them. In the evening, we could also sing karaoke, perform 'splashing water into ice' (po shui cheng bing), and 'iron fireworks' (da tie hua), all free of charge. I highly recommend this guesthouse; this trip was absolutely worth it! 🤗

The room itself was fine, and the owners, a husband and wife, were very welcoming and helpful. We hadn't brought crampons, and the owner even drove us to buy some. There's a small courtyard outside the guesthouse that's great for photos, especially after it snowed at night – it looked beautiful. The owner also patrols late at night, which made us feel very safe. However, there's an old man working there who is incredibly difficult to communicate with and has a terrible attitude. When we first had an issue with our check-in, he yelled at guests, showing no sense of customer service whatsoever. I was very unhappy about that. The other thing was the horse-drawn sleigh ride to Yangcao Mountain. During Chinese New Year, they charged 150 RMB per person, so for one sleigh, we paid 900 RMB for just a 20-30 minute ride. Later, we heard from other tourists that their guesthouses only charged 100 RMB. That left a bad taste in my mouth. But then again, this was just one of many tourist traps we encountered while traveling in Northeast China, so whatever.
