I rarely leave reviews, but I just had to for this place! Our family of four spent two days in Xuegu (Snow Valley), then trekked over Yangcao Mountain to Xuexiang (Snow Village)... After the whole trip, we unanimously agreed that our two days in Xuegu were absolutely fantastic, and Xuexiang was totally not worth it... The owner's guesthouse in Xuegu was superb in every aspect – cleanliness, facilities, environment, and service! You truly felt the warmth of family there! The recommended attractions were also excellent; the kids didn't want to leave... I wholeheartedly give a 100% recommendation to stay at their place in Xuegu... And I'd advise everyone, just visit Xuexiang for a quick look, but it's best not to stay overnight... The room prices are three times higher, and the facilities are three times worse! The owner in Xuegu treats you like a guest, while the owners in Xuexiang treat you like sheep to be fleeced... The contrast is stark! After experiencing Wusongling (mainly for the stunning rime scenery) in Xuegu, the Shuangyan Ski Resort (recommended by the owner, primarily for various snow activities), and the trek over Yangcao Mountain (once you reach the summit, you'll realize it was all worth it! A wonderland! Photos can't even capture it!), if you then go to Xuexiang, you'll feel that those who visit Xuexiang on a tour or only visit Xuexiang are getting ripped off! They haven't seen the real snow scenery at all! In Xuexiang, a snow tube ride costs 50 (you can play for free at the Xuegu guesthouse), splash water into ice costs 50 (you can do it for free in Xuegu), and the food is both terrible and expensive (I asked a lamb skewer vendor, and he said: 'Rent is 300,000 for 100 days, if it's not expensive, I'd go broke,' which is probably true). In short, if you want a deep and thorough snow experience, stick to Xuegu. A quick visit to Xuexiang for a photo op is enough, no need to stay overnight.

The hosts are a lovely uncle and auntie. The room is wonderfully spacious and bright, with immaculately swept floors whose natural wood grain exudes a clean freshness. Not a speck of dust can be found on table corners or under the bed. Outside, snow fell heavily, and the wind whipped snowflakes against the window, yet inside, it was toasty warm. The heated kang bed was incredibly effective, and the coarse linen duvet absorbed all the heat. Any chill instantly dissipated upon touching the bed, leaving a warmth that permeated right down to your bones. Over these past few days, the uncle and auntie took excellent care of me. You can even eat directly at the guesthouse, and the food – Guobao Rou (sweet and sour pork), Northeastern Stew, and sauerkraut dumplings – all authentic Northeastern flavors, was truly delicious. The auntie provided complimentary hiking gear; the trekking poles were smoothly worn, and the snow gaiters were spotless. As I was leaving, she even slipped me a package of fireworks, wrapped in red paper, a heavy and heartfelt gesture. Everything I photographed was recommended by the uncle and auntie. If anyone has questions about travel tips or itineraries, feel free to ask them!

Extended my stay for another night, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend.

The owner is super nice! They offer free frozen pears and persimmons, complimentary try-ons of their traditional padded coats, and even free 'splashing water into ice' demonstrations. The owner also helped us book all the activities we wanted to do.
