First of all, you must set your expectations right when choosing this place. This is a guest house, so do not expect hotel rooms or facilities. It is another person's house. Yes, the room and toilet are small, so it is advisable not to bring extra large luggage. You will not have space to open them in the room. The bed is hard and it can get cold as the only heating is from the bed. But all these are a true Northeastern China experience staying in a Kang bed!
However, their service was excellent. From the start the owner (the son) helped to book bus ticket from Harbin to Snow Valley for both ways! He even paid in advance too. Then once I reached there, the mom and dad who is managing the property is the ones who took care of guests. Going to Wu Song Ling was also done by the mom, helping us to call the person in charge to fetch us and even help us exchange cash as the entrance fee only accepts cash.
You can order lunch and dinner from them and it is cheaper than eating outside. It tastes good and fresh too. Simple breakfast of plain porridge, hard boiled egg and mantou is provided.
I can feel, the owners put in a lot of effort in entertaining the guests, prepare tanghulu session with us, have dumpling wrapping activities, and even boil hot water for us to take photos with. All in all, my 1 night stay in this guesthouse was a good experience. Although the place was lacking, their hospitality was what makes it memorable.
