SHISAN HOTEL

The hotel was located in the heart of the Muslim Quarter, which had its advantages (very easy access to street food & restaurants) and disadvantages (you couldn't park rental bicycles anywhere near the hotel and the streets were packed with pedestrians & motorcycles). The hotel room had a bedroom with two beds and another separate bedroom with one bed. There was theoretically a fourth bed in the lounge area, but it was very hard - meant only for sitting on during the day. Each bedroom had its bathroom, with no separation between the shower and toilet. When choosing all of our hotels in China we were trying to get ones with a separate shower cubicle, but this hotel was clean & hygienic, so we found this arrangement to not be a problem. There was also a third toilet, without a shower but with a washing machine. The highlight of our room was the private terrace with a rocking chair, but unfortunately there was rain every day during our stay, so we couldn't really make use of it. Lastly, the room decorations were nice, there was a large fridge in the kitchen, and the staff were helpful. Overall, we could recommend this hotel for a group of 5 people.
