Grand Mercure Xiamen Downtown

The location is fantastic, just 50 meters from the metro station, making it super convenient to get to various commercial areas and the ferry. It's also very close to SM Plaza. They have many room types, and this time I stayed in a duplex room. The room facilities were well-maintained, and the cleanliness was good, as was the service. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Xiamen!

This hotel is truly a hidden gem! The location is excellent, making it super convenient for taxis and the subway. There are also plenty of malls and restaurants nearby. Breakfast is on the 15th floor with great views and a good variety of tasty food, including some Xiamen specialties. My only complaint is that the air conditioning wasn't very strong. The noodle station is right by the entrance, and the smell from frying eggs, without proper ventilation, means that if you sit near there, the greasy smell is quite strong and it gets even hotter. Facilities: The front desk upgraded me to a deluxe duplex room, which was very spacious and convenient with separate areas for the bathroom. Cleanliness: It was very clean and comfortable, and the room was dry, so my clothes dried almost completely overnight. Environment: Being on a high floor, the view from the window was lovely. The lobby also smelled very pleasant. It would be even better if the main entrance had automatic doors, as pushing them open with luggage was a bit inconvenient. Service: The staff at the front desk, in the restaurant, and the cleaning ladies were all very good.

I almost never leave reviews, but I really have to say something this time. If you're lucky enough to encounter Xiao Lu (presumably the front desk manager) during your check-in, then you're truly fortunate. There are no gimmicks, she treats people with genuine sincerity, always thinking from the guest's perspective, and continuously provides heartwarming little surprises along the way. These surprises aren't the usual room upgrades or complimentary breakfasts, which are standard benefits. Instead, they come from the heart, genuinely helping you solve problems, and that kind of thoughtfulness cannot be bought with money. Thank you, Xiao Lu! Also, @hotel management, having such a dedicated employee is a valuable asset to the hotel.

Facilities: The facilities are complete, but they are old. The wet and dry separation in the washroom isn't well-designed and is uncomfortable to use. Hygiene: It's an old hotel, so the hygiene is acceptable but definitely not excellent. Environment: The hotel's location is good, and the environment is decent too. Service: Giving it three stars is being generous. I called three times for a pair of children's slippers, and they weren't delivered even after an hour. They said a robot would deliver them, but in the end, I had to go down and get them myself. If the service had been good, I would have given a full five-star review. The service was truly disappointing, and I have to give an honest review.

The hotel environment is really good, perfect for entertaining clients. The front desk, housekeeping, and other staff members are all very friendly and polite. I highly recommend staying at this hotel when you visit Xiamen. The location is also excellent, right in the city center.
