I always stay at this hotel. I recommend it because it's in a great location, just a 3-minute walk from Ya'an Base. Meals are charged separately, but both breakfast and dinner are reasonably priced and delicious. Dinner is quite large, so I recommend sharing it with other solo travelers. The owner and staff are very kind and will also arrange transportation to and from Ya'an Station.

Also, because it is in the mountains in summer, there are a lot of insects (unlike in Japan, the flies are huge. I thought they were bees, but they were flies), and they come into the room, so be careful if you don't like insects. There seem to be no non-smoking rooms, but I was glad that the room didn't smell of cigarettes. There were slippers, sandals, and water in the room, and the air conditioner worked well.

The bathroom has poor drainage and it takes about 30 minutes to drain. If there are a lot of people staying, the shower becomes cold. The air conditioner is very noisy. There are no screens, etc. Also, the Chinese groups staying here are extremely loud.
