Yamagata Eki Nishiguchi Washington Hotel

It was a hotel directly connected to Yamagata Station. The weather was good on the day I stayed, the mountain 々 was clear at dusk, and I was able to see a beautiful moon at night. If you walk in front of the station, there are restaurants and supermarkets, so I think it's not troublesome to stay. There was also a convenience store on the 1 floor. I would like to take care of you again when you go to Yamagata.
Yamashiroya Ryokan

I spent four great nights at Yamashiroya Ryokan when I was visiting for sight seeing and skiing. The owner was very nice and looked after me very well. She is a great cook as well and the breakfasts were excellent! I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

I did n’t order breakfast so I do n’t know, this is a Japanese-style bed, you can have as many beds as you like, but I do n’t know if I will check you if you stay too much. I have n’t cleaned it for a long time, but I did n’t clean it when I checked in. There are also cups. There are 4 cups in the row above the refrigerator, which seem to contain a total of eight cups of water. In a wooden cabinet, there is no sterilization effect. I use The finished cup was put in directly the next day. I do n’t wear lipstick, but I will apply lip balm at night. The next day they put towels and bath towels to change water and cups, but in fact the cups just help you put them in the cabinet. There are my lip balm lip prints on the cup, water traces on the cup, dried water traces, and it feels dirty than the cup. I only use hot water to burn it. The front desk for men in their 60s is impatient. This hot spring cannot be used outdoor at all. The water is shallow. The boy next door is a connected pool and can see each other. Japanese people ca n’t wear clothes in the hot spring. The outdoor hot spring is really furnished and not good-looking. Indoors The female hot spring is OK, the glass is transparent, at least you can take a hot spring to see the snow, the price is more expensive than the Yuchi Seven Hot Springs, and the hot springs are not as good as there. There is also a small convenience store with a small amount of fruit, apples and oranges for sale.
Forest Inn Sangoro

Friends booked us in at Sangoro so we could ski in / out... and it truly is ski in/out... not like places at the bottom of the hill where u can only ski in/out if there’s a decent amount of snow. Sangoro is at mid-mountain, so if the resort is open for the winter season, you can ski in / out of this hotel. The disadvantage of being at mid-mountain is that there is only Sangoro there and you can’t leave / get back there from The main village after 5pm. So all your evenings are spent at the hotel. It wasn’t a problem for us, but I think you’d get cabin fever if u stayed there too long. They have a reasonable dinner menu that is mostly Japanese but has a few western and vegetarian options (spaghetti with soy meat and margarita pizza). They have a soft drink machine and soup machine which are free for people staying there (all u can drink). There’s also a pool table, table tennis table, a few games and a massage chair u can use (the massage chair is quite good after a day on the slopes). The bathrooms are Japanese (shared) but you can only use them between 7-9am and 5-10pm... only showers can be used in the morning but they fill up the big hot baths in the evenings. The women’s bathroom is down on the lowest level, so you have to go down 2 or 3 flights of stairs to get there. Men’s bathroom is on the main floor, with the hotel rooms 1 and 2 floors above. There are no elevators, so you need to be ok with climbing the fairly steep stairs and carrying luggage up/down. They have a drying room on the lowest level for ski gear, but someone kept opening the window in the room so it was always very cold in there (no point putting your stuff in there to dry). One thing everyone in our group complained about was the beds and/or pillows... not comfortable at all! I had poor sleep as I had to keep rotating all night or my arm or leg would go numb. The people working at the hotel are really nice. Some of them speak better English than others... we didn’t have any language issues but we did have a couple of people in our group who speak good Japanese, which was helpful for anything complicated. To get to the hotel you have to catch the Chuo Ropeway up to mid-mountain and get the hotel to pick you up in their special car (on tracks to drive on the snow). If you need lift tickets it’s a little cheaper to purchase them from the hotel but you. I enjoyed my time at Sangoro (except the beds), but it’s not somewhere I’d stay for a really long time due to its remoteness (there are really good and not so good things about being isolated on the mountain).
Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata

Attached to Yamagata Station. Easy for transportation. Although we weren’t allowed for early checked in, they help us kept most of luggage in their storage. Luggage that Ive sent from my previous destination were directly sent to my room. Lobby staff were friendly. Room was spacious, bed were big enough for us (2 adults and a 4 years old boy). They even give my son amenities (slippers and toothbrush sets). Laundry service was affordable although located in another wing, the machine usage status frequently updated in the tv info page. Very helpful. Breakfast was either set of japanese or english breakfast. We are a muslim family, although they cannot provide halal food but the team hell us to omit meat products. Both me was luxurious and delicious. Recommended place to stay if you’re in Yamagata.
