Right beside the Yanagawa River, the breakfast area overlooks guests boarding the Yanagawa boat tours, which is quite entertaining. The hotel actually offers a direct boarding service right from the property. The Yanagawa walking path is exceptionally romantic; my wife and I stayed for three days and went for strolls twice—it was truly romantic. Both dinners were exceptionally delicious. The first night was a Kaiseki meal featuring hitsumabushi (three-way eel), which was absolute heaven! On the second night, we had a special course, and the server recommended a flight of three sakes for 1,500 yen—a phenomenal recommendation!

There is nothing much to do here except for the yanagawa river boat ride where some young boatman will jump up the low lying bridge as the boat passes under the bridge. The good part is during good weather the river behind this hotel during late evening 7pm is beautiful and calm. Parking is free and just in front of the hotel. Mind that this hotel seems quite old but amenities are well maintained.
