Banyan Tree Yangshuo

This is the best hotel in Yangshuo. Compared to The Sugarcane, VOCO, Hwa Peng, and Banyan Tree, it offers the best value for money. The staff are well-trained and provide genuine assistance. Even after checking out, they continued to answer all our questions about our itinerary. We stayed in the Jingxuan Villa, which was comfortably sized with excellent facilities. The nightly turndown gifts were a lovely touch. The travel photography service was also good, and the photographer had a great attitude. The entire garden landscape is beautifully maintained, and the various small animals like peacocks, geese, ducks, goldfish, and alpacas provided a wonderful and relaxing experience for guests. If you're driving, the hotel's location isn't remote at all. It's about a 20-minute drive to the Ten-Mile Gallery, and also 20 minutes to take a bamboo raft on the Yulong River. Xingping Ancient Town Pier is only half an hour away. Personally, I think it's far superior to the guesthouses near the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River – there's simply no comparison. We had a wonderful two-night, three-day stay. It left a deep impression on our trip to Yangshuo.

The environment is beautiful, and the service is incredibly thoughtful. I happened to get sick during this trip, and the hotel staff repeatedly helped us get takeout and medicine, which was really embarrassing but so appreciated. Banyan Tree will definitely be my top choice for future visits.

The hotel environment is lovely, right by the Li River with fresh air. The service is excellent; the housekeeper was consistently caring, patient, and polite. The breakfast was bountiful, with different options every day. Definitely worth keeping an eye on – it's the best choice when visiting Yangshuo.

This was our second stay at the Banyan Tree Yangshuo, and it's particularly well-suited for families traveling with children and seniors. The hotel offers activities like feeding peacocks and ducks, as well as fishing. The outdoor pool by the Li River is fantastic for kids, and this time we also experienced the cormorant fishing show arranged by the hotel. Although the rooms are a bit older, they are well-maintained. The common areas and outdoor scenery are beautiful, creating a wonderful resort atmosphere. The staff are attentive and thoughtful, especially Nora, who deserves a special mention. The breakfast spread is extensive. For dining, I recommend eating at the hotel; restaurants we've tried before like Big Banyan Tree and Qingjiangdu were merely average farmhouse-style eateries.

Our butler, Vicky, provided excellent service. The environment was very peaceful, and the breakfast was quite abundant. There were also many activities for children.

You could say there's Banyan Tree, and then there's everything else. If you get the chance, you really should stay at a Banyan Tree. Unbeatable location, comfortable and luxurious rooms, and attentive, first-class service! Environment: Absolutely unparalleled! Amidst the mountains and waters, truly Banyan Tree bliss~ Service: The butler service was excellent! Nora was always available whenever needed~ Hygiene: Stayed for two nights, and the housekeeping service on the second day was impeccable. The room was very tidy!

I'm extremely disappointed with the Banyan Tree brand; this stay was a huge letdown and completely failed to meet the expectations I have for a luxury resort. The room facilities were outdated. The toilet design was very impractical; an adult couldn't even touch their toes to the ground when sitting on it, making it an awkward experience. The dining experience was terrible; I felt unwell after eating the hotel breakfast and hadn't consumed anything else. This led to two consecutive days of gastroenteritis. As a tourist from out of town, this severe bout of gastroenteritis even cast a shadow over my entire trip. The check-in experience was awful. After just one night, we asked the hotel if we could check out early and only pay for one night, but they flat-out refused. Throughout the process, they never even bothered to ask why we wanted to cancel or change our stay so soon after checking in, showing a complete lack of concern. The butler/customer service staff had an indifferent attitude, their replies were robotic and completely devoid of empathy. Even worse, the pool attendants were unhelpful. One child was hogging four or five public floats by themselves, and when my child wanted to use one, they wouldn't share. The pool staff just stood by and watched, refusing to intervene or help mediate. Regarding the public swimming goggles, I asked the staff if I needed to buy them, and they said yes, I had to pay. However, I later witnessed staff putting the goggles back into the public area, meaning there were free ones available, but guests weren't informed. Overall, the hotel's service management was chaotic. During check-in, the staff had difficulty understanding and communicating, making the conversation very arduous. The entire experience felt heavily profit-driven, and many promotions were just superficial gimmicks. The advertised complimentary travel photography actually required an additional fee. Surprisingly, the rooms didn't even provide free bottled water, instead expecting guests to boil tap water for drinking. In stark contrast, the guesthouse we stayed at the day before cost about the same but offered a much better experience in terms of service, facilities, and overall ambiance. I suspect that perhaps the discounted prices during the summer promotion attracted a different type of clientele, affecting the overall environment. For a renowned luxury hotel, the hardware, dining, and service were all unsatisfactory, offering very poor value for money. This significantly diminished my travel experience, and I'm very disappointed. I would not recommend choosing this hotel.

Extremely satisfied with this trip! After a decade, I returned to Banyan Tree Yangshuo, and the stunning mountain and river scenery, coupled with the impeccable service from our butler Alice, made the trip even more effortless and enjoyable. My child even said they want to come back again next time! 👍👍👍
