The place is charming, authentic and beautiful. Best food we had in our trip around China. Best view. We only wish, a missing glass in the window will be fixed 😅

On the more expensive side of Yangshuo accomodations, but is 100% worth it! The lodging is admist scenic views of surrounding karst mountains, perfect for those who crave a mountain retreat or simply be away from crowds for a bit. Rooms are spacious and clean. Also a 45-50 mins hike away from the Damian mountain viewpoint: the trail is pretty easy to follow (the hotel sent me detailed instructions) and it's impossible to get lost after passing one-third of the trail.

The owner and all the staff were incredibly friendly. The owner even came to pick me up from the West Xingping pier. She showed me around and gave me great recommendations for things to do during my stay in Xingping. The dinner was absolutely delicious! Seriously, it was the best food I've had in China (and I'm not exaggerating)! The room was spacious and clean. And the views were unbeatable. This place was a fantastic find!

This was a dream place to stay for our visit to Guilin! The setting was stunning, a beautiful hillside retreat away from the crowds. The guesthouse owner was wonderfully thoughtful and made every effort to make our stay memorable - from cosy home-cooked meals, free flow mandarins and recommendations on the best sunrise hike just around the corner.

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful remote place away from everything but in the midst of nature. The view from the terrace is splendid, the pets lovely (they are not shy at all and love the guests attention, especially the cat). The hosts contacted us even before our arrival to make sure we find our way up to the mountain guesthouse. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. We were spoiled with tea, fruits and even cappuccino with latte art. As other reviewers wrote, there's a hidden access to a trail leading up to a beautiful viewpoint on the mountain behind (45-60 minutes walk for one way). You will love it if you won't get bored far away from villages and towns too quickly, you won't like it accessibility is a major criteria for you. All of the staff was very kind and made our stay a great experience. Even though we were in touch with the hosts via wechat throughout our stay (worked very well), it might be an idea to provide some information and major activities in a document or small brochure to facilitate planing a bit.

This is a wonderful family run guesthouse, where you can enjoy peace away from the hustle of Xingping Old Town. Differently from other types of accommodation we have seen in Dahe Bei village, this guesthouse is a hidden gem with charme and character. The food was excellent and abundant, freshly cooked by the owner herself. The owner picked us up from the Dahe Bei ferry dock, organised an electric moped rental in Dahe Bei (we didn't see many on that side of the river) and gave us plenty of tips and suggestions for where to go and what to do around there, including a sunrise hike to a nearby mountain that you can reach directly from the guesthouse - if you're into hiking (it's a 1h walk uphill through pomelo and orange orchards, followed by a series of staircases), it's a great spot, as we found only a few photographers when we got up there. The ginger cat and the house dog are cute and extremely friendly, adding to the overall wonderful atmosphere. Our room was spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water for showers after a day of hiking or driving around to see the surroundings. If we were to travel again in this area, we would definitely go back. Highly recommended!

One of the best home stays I’ve stayed in for a while! The owners are so welcoming and the wife went out of her way to make me lovely food, drive me down to the ferry crossing and offer me advice for local hikes. This is perfect for people who want to get away from the busy and touristy old town. It’s tucked away on the side of a mountain with gorgeous views of the Li river. There is also an incredible hike up Damian mountain, built by the owners themselves! The owners will give you really easy instructions to reach the steps that take you up to the platform at the top. It’s also on the correct side of the river for the much busier Xianggong sightseeing platform. Here are a few things to note: - This is not close to anything else and will require you to get a ferry from Xingping old town for 5 yuan and pay someone to drive you up the mountain to the home stay - Alternatively you can walk up in about 40 mins which is a very peaceful. - They have some really friendly pets, a cat and 2 dogs. But just be aware if you’re not an animal person, but the dog will lead you up part of the path for the hike up Damian mountain!

Service was fantastic and the owner is super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a rural experience. Location is among the mountain but slightly out of the way but the owner's warmth and awesome view makes this a great experience.

I rarely write reviews, but felt like I had to talk about what a magical experience I had at Yunshe. I stayed for three nights during the off-season, and was looking for a peaceful getaway with easy access to nature and a minimum of tourist traps. That’s exactly what I got and more — the hotel owner (who grew up nearby) was extremely gracious and generous, moving me into a larger room on the lower floor to accommodate my heavy luggage. She also gave me tips on how to get around Xingping as well as instructions for trails to the nearby Damian Mountain and a Buddhist temple built into the side of a cliff. The view from the hotel veranda is stunning, perfect for reading a book or chatting with other guests, depending on your mood. It’s a true escape from city life without having to give up comforts like espresso drinks. Just be aware that it is farther from Xingping than other hotels (which is the point), so plan your transportation accordingly. Five stars for the hotel’s dog, too, who led me up the mountain for a sunrise hike (photos not shown here).

Amazing atmosphere, welcoming and friendly. Immersed in nature, good fit for adventurous travelers - with a private path to the picturesque mountain view point. The host is exceptional and caring - gave valuable tips and drove us as a pro pilot to the Guilin train station, ensuring we were on time! Order Didi in advance.

My room was clean, spacious and had all amenities you might require. The guesthouse as a whole is very charming and the location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains. While it’s not the most accessible area, a 45 minute walk will get you to the Xingping Ancient Town, and of course you are directly next to a stunning viewing spot on top of a mountain. The food was great, service friendly and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend, and I will hopefully be back soon!
