Refactoring Bingouguan Humanities Holiday Hotel (Yangzhou Dongguan Street)

We had a wonderful stay here and couldn’t have asked for a better location in Yangzhou. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet area near Dongguan Street, which made it feel calm and removed from the crowds, while still being perfectly placed for exploring the old city on foot. The room was beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending modern comfort with traditional architectural details. Everything was clean, well maintained, and felt intentionally done rather than generic. What really surprised us was discovering the hidden courtyards throughout the hotel, along with a traditional tea house on site. Walking through these spaces felt like stepping into a small historic compound rather than a standard hotel — peaceful, atmospheric, and full of character. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, always ready to assist and happy to share information when needed, without ever being intrusive. If you’re looking for a place that reflects the slow, cultural rhythm of Yangzhou, this hotel is a perfect fit. Highly recommended, especially for couples or anyone wanting a quieter, more meaningful stay.

This was just perfect! Through my rewards program we received a very nice upgrade to a courtyard room with bathtub, which we used. The hotel’s location is perfectly situated between Dongguan street and Pishi street (the latter is the nicer one, Dongguan st is just very touristy), so both are well reachable on foot. The hotel is new and comfortable, in a beautiful historic setting, garden included. The floor heating creates a comfortable environment in the room, and the staff go out of their way to help you with whatever you may need. We enjoyed our little foto shoot with Xiaohe from Xiaowan Lüpai too, shot on the premises. One remark for international visitors: the sockets in the rooms are 2 and 3 pin flat sockets, not the universal round ones you usually see in China hotels. You might need an adapter to charge your devices. However our room also had direct USB A and C plugs in the wall, so this was not really an issue. We were very impressed with Yangzhou, there’s plenty of things to see, like Shouxihu, Ge Garden, Daming Temple etc, and then there’s the local Huaiyang cuisine of course. You can easily spend 3 days here, it’s lovely.

This hotel is located in Dongguan Street just a short 2 minute walk from the taxi drop off. The staff gave us a warm welcome and told us we had our room upgraded which was a lovely surprise. The room was spaceous and spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and large screen TV. The under floor heating system was very good in the evenings as the temperature dropped. The bathroom itself was also very well appointed with a good size bath tub as well as a rain shower and plenty of hot water available at all times. The staff were lovely throughout the whole complex and always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was plentiful and had many local varieties of food available. There is also a coffee shop on site which makes great quality flat white! I can highly recommend staying at this hotel as it is literally in Dongguan street and also just across the road from Pishi street. As a western guest I felt very comfortable at this hotel and would definitely visit again.

Nice,clean and good location

It wasn’t peak of travel season so the hotel was nice and quiet. One of the Best location to the major Main Streets for the tourist. Overall we are all very satisfied with this hotel and will stay there again if we travel to yangchou.
