Jiyuan Boutique Homestay (Yangzhou Dongguan Street)

Visiting Dongguan Street in Yangzhou, I blindly chose this century-old Jiyuan Inn boutique B&B, and the whole experience was fantastic! Definitely five stars! The location is truly exceptional, tucked away in an old alley on Guoqing Road. Just a few steps out the door and you're on the main Dongguan Street. Ge Garden is only a few minutes' walk away, making it super convenient for exploring, dining, sightseeing, and enjoying the ancient alleyways at night. It offers a unique tranquility amidst the bustling city, completely undisturbed by the street noise. This serene atmosphere perfectly embodies the slow-paced Yangzhou lifestyle.

The Courtyard Homestay has an elegant and charming courtyard. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the owner is warm and thoughtful. It's conveniently located, making for an excellent stay.

I specifically sought out the century-old 'Jiyuan Hostel,' a Republic of China-era residence, and my stay far exceeded expectations! The location is superb, tucked away in an old town alley, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. It's just a few minutes' walk to Dongguan Street and Caiyi Street, and very close to Fuchun Teahouse for morning tea and Ge Garden, making getting around incredibly convenient. The courtyard is charmingly antique, with wooden corridors and a blue-brick courtyard creating a wonderful ambiance. It's beautifully restored to its original glory, with picturesque views everywhere. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the bathroom facilities complete. The soundproofing was good, making for a very quiet night. The front desk service was gentle and attentive. They were knowledgeable about local activities and proactively recommended sightseeing routes. It's a rare opportunity to stay in such a historic old building and experience the authentic charm of old Yangzhou. Next time I visit Yangzhou, this will still be my first choice. Highly recommended!

This review is absolutely authentic. Overall rating: Has its pros and cons, please understand them clearly before deciding. My stay details: Price: 93*2=186 RMB, Dates: June 26-28 Environment: The main advantage is its proximity to Dongguan Street. Right outside, you can experience Yangzhou's characteristic foot massages and enjoy local specialties like Yangzhou fried rice. For a city without a subway, the hotel/B&B's location is one of the most important factors (at least for me personally). The downside is that it's located in a small alley (as shown in image four), but objectively speaking, it's not hard to find. If you care about whether the storefront looks presentable, you might want to reconsider. Cleanliness: Since the B&B has been open for some years (approximately 10 years), it's inevitable to find many hard-to-clean stains and black marks on the walls and ceiling. However, the bedding and bathroom were generally clean. Facilities: Room soundproofing isn't great; you can hear a bit of snoring from next door and feel vibrations. There's no elevator, so you have to walk up a short flight of stairs. The sink seemed to be leaking (or perhaps the pipe), but everything else was acceptable. Service: The front desk staff were very friendly, and communication was smooth.

This hotel was fantastic! My husband even praised my choice, saying we slept so comfortably and soundly, even better than at home, thanks to how quiet it was at night. The landlady was incredibly warm and friendly, patiently helping us with our itinerary, making reservations, and recommending delicious local food – she was just so kind. The hotel is located in the heart of Yangzhou's old town city center, making it super convenient to get everywhere. We could walk to He Garden, Ge Garden, Dongguan Street, and Pishi Street. It was incredibly convenient! No wonder Doubao highly recommended it; it's genuinely excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

Excellent location! The service was superb, and within an 800-meter radius, there are famous local eateries like Maopai Lou, Erchun Fried Rice, and Fuchun Teahouse. It's super convenient for sightseeing; Slender West Lake, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, and Pishi Street are all within walking distance. The stay was incredibly comfortable; highly recommend! Fantastic! Came here with my classmate and absolutely fell in love with Yangzhou; there's so much to explore. This hotel was definitely a bonus! The lady at the front desk was so kind, helping us plan our sightseeing routes and avoid any pitfalls. The room was super clean, and all the amenities were great. The location is excellent—lots of food options and easy access to attractions. Such a great value! Highly recommend!!
