Great place to stay. 100m to entrance, owner generously offered a discount for tickets (80 rmb instead of 100). Also there's an pickup option from the railway station and a special discount in a local restaurant! Clean rooms, beautiful scenery on night town from the courtyard. Strongly recommended.

The Perfect View & Peaceful Escape in Furong Town If you are visiting Furong Ancient Town, Nianxi Courtyard is an exceptional choice. It offers the perfect balance of proximity and peace. The Location: It is much more accessible than expected—less than a 2-minute walk from the main road and a quick 3-minute stroll down the slope to the town entrance. This is a huge advantage because the ancient town can be very noisy with live music from open-air pubs; staying here allows you to enjoy the quiet while being just steps away from the action. 1) The Room & Views: The rooms are super clean and modern. The absolute highlight is the balcony and garden, which offer stunning views of Furong Town illuminated at night. It’s a breathtaking sight to enjoy with a cup of tea. Also it is newly renovated. 2) Exceptional Hospitality: The owner lives on-site, making the property feel very safe. She went above and beyond, lighting the path for us for night walks and recommending a fantastic restaurant with river views and local cuisine. We were even treated to fresh seasonal tangerines for our walks and breakfast! 3) Transport Logistics: Since public buses aren't readily available. We took taxi to the place. The owner can arranged a very reasonably priced private transfer for us when we wanted to head back to the station. Always inform in advance so that it will be not at others inconvenience. 4) Pro Tip: Don't miss the local performances at the square (throughout the day, do check on the schedule) and riverside in the evening—they are a must-see! Sad that we stayed only 1 night. But Furong is enough for a 1 day trip unless extended stay is to more of a relax and be lazy trip.

Furongzhen is quite popular with foreign tourists, probably because it's so close to Zhangjiajie. I picked this guest house because it's within a short walking distance to one of the Furongzhen Ancient Village gates (East Gate, I believe), just about 5 min outside. It's located right on the bank of the river/stream, on the opposite side of the main village so it's quieter but still convenient. To get to the ancient village, you just walk a little down hill to reach the gate. From the guest house, you also have a good view of the ancient village and the Tuwang Bridge, especially if you stay on the second floor. The room (at least the one I stay in) doesn't have a TV, but it has a projector instead. They don't offer breakfast but you can order food delivery easily or you can ask the guest house reception to do that for you. Tips: It's closer to the guest house to reach the Waterfall Viewing Platform than from the main village side. You will have a great view of the waterfall from here, especially at night. You don't need to stay a night in Furongzhen if you travel from Zhangjiajie, unless you really enjoy the night view and nightlight in the village. There are frequent trains between both locations, sometimes 10 minutes apart, even late evening. It only takes about 20 minutes on the train.

Room IS well located in first floor. Big bed and nice bathroom. It was a bit cole but we were in Februrary so IS normal. Host was super friendly and helpful. She helped to arrange a taxi back to train Statio. Highly recomended.

The room was really nice and had beautiful views. It was generally clean with the exception of some candy wrappers around the room and a bag full of chicken bones (leftovers from the previous guests I guess) that was under the table. The bathroom is nice and clean with separated shower and toilet. The toilet didn't flush really well but it was ok

Really nice room, great location near the east gate of the scenic area. The lady that owns the place is really kind and helped me a lot during my stay. Definitely recommend!

Cosy place on top overlooking the town. Within walking distance and nice place to relax and drink tea. Particularly likes the vibes there with the front yard beautifully decorated. Also the pomelo trees fruiting. Looks so nice and pretty.
