This is a charming old English hotel. The breakfast is à la carte and quite delicious overall. The hotel is very close to York's main attractions, about a 10-minute walk away. It's also near the train station, which is convenient for visiting other cities.

This is a beautiful hotel, and the town of York is also lovely. The hotel's location is excellent. If you're driving, make sure to book a parking spot in advance! The hotel is very clean and doesn't have any strange smells. There's a small pantry with snacks, water, and small cakes. Breakfast is standard, but it's convenient to have it at the hotel. Overall, we were satisfied.

Overall, this hotel is more suited for those who prioritize design aesthetics and photo opportunities. The actual stay experience, however, is quite average. 1. **Unique Hotel Style** This is what I consider a major plus. The overall design has a distinct style, and both the public areas and many details are very aesthetically pleasing, making it great for photos. If you appreciate design-led hotels, you'd probably like it. 2. **Small Room Size** The actual room space is quite limited, making it feel a bit cramped. This would be even more noticeable if you have a lot of luggage. 3. **Average Cleanliness** The overall cleanliness isn't terrible, but it also doesn't feel particularly spotless or refined. 4. **Ordinary Service** The service generally lacks any significant highlights, and the proactivity is quite average. For instance, upon arrival, if you don't explicitly ask, no doorman will proactively come to help with your luggage. This fell short of my expectations for this hotel. In summary, the hotel's biggest strengths are its unique style and photogenic appeal. However, if you prioritize room size, cleanliness, and service experience, you might find the value for money to be just average.

York is very compact, and everything in the hotel is within walking distance. We walked straight to No.1 York from the train station, and the ivy-covered walls truly make it look like a dream cottage. Our room was on the ground floor; initially, we were a bit worried that a wooden building like this might be noisy with people walking around upstairs and downstairs, but since our room was tucked away at the end, we didn't experience any of that at all. The room came with a record player and vinyl records that we could play freely, and the complimentary snack pantry with unlimited crisps and drinks was a huge plus 🤭. We opted for the breakfast option, which is made-to-order. All in all, it was a fantastic stay.

The room was spacious, perfect for two adults and a child, and they even arranged an extra bed for us in advance. The outdoor balcony was quite comfortable, and they provided complimentary snacks. Out of the four hotels we stayed at during our UK trip, this was the only one that didn't require a deposit. Highly recommend!

This hotel was exceptionally satisfying. It boasts British-style decor and service, and the themed ornaments are very tasteful. I really feel it's the best hotel in York. The location is also excellent, but what I loved most was the breakfast – the Eggs Benedict were perfectly made.

This is an amazing boutique hotel, they have a chain of 4 hotels in England, you can book without hesitation. And their shower amenities are simply delightful. I didn't think to buy them there, so I had to search for the brand in London to bring some home. The bar serves excellent cocktails. It's the perfect hotel for spending time in York.

This hotel is an absolute gem! All the staff were incredibly thoughtful and patient. When I mentioned I was there for tourism, they even kindly prepared a York map for me. The room was also very cozy. I'm definitely coming back to stay here again!

This hotel has great style! From the interior design to the cocktails, everything was excellent. Although breakfast isn't a buffet, there are plenty of options, very local and English. The hotel even has a basement that served as a shelter during WWII and has now been converted into a spa – very cool, definitely worth checking out. The hotel pantry also offers complimentary snacks, fruits, and drinks. It's truly good, and the location is fantastic. The record player and vinyl records in the room are a wonderful touch.
