At first, we were confused and couldn't figure out where check-in was located. Then another guest somehow opened the door (apparently, there was a code they knew, and we didn't. Or maybe there wasn't a code at all). Self check-in is on the 2nd floor. You don't need to get anything from the hotel in advance: there's a button that says 'I don't have a password' (or something similar). Then they give you the room password, and it's crucial not to forget it, as there are no staff members at the hotel whatsoever. The room itself was clean, tidy, and spacious. It had a kettle, microwave, and other amenities. The station is literally just across the road. Overall, the only thing missing were some signs for check-in. Everything else was great.

A great value-for-money option if you're on a budget! It's right across from Yufuin Station, just a minute's walk away, super convenient. The triple room was clean, a bit small, but it came with a fridge, microwave, and washing machine. The bathroom had a tub and the toilet was separate from the shower, which was really nice. 👍 The rooftop open-air bath gets an extra 100 points! You get to use it privately on a rotating basis, so a family can enjoy it together without strangers. You can even soak late at night. One thing to note ⚠️ is that it's a self-check-in system, which isn't the most convenient. You need to get a password from the hotel before arrival. You enter the password on a tablet on the second floor, and then it gives you your room number and room access code. Also, check-out is by 10 AM the next day, so you'll need to store your luggage in the lockers at the station across the street. Overall, it's still a really great place – good location, affordable, and that open-air bath is a huge bonus!

I don't know if it's because I was staying alone, but the room facilities were really great! The bed was big, there was a sofa, TV, microwave, and fridge! The bathtub was also big and nice! It felt like the largest bathtub I've seen in a Japanese hotel. For this price and room condition, I would definitely stay here again. It's super convenient as it's right in front of the station. You just need to cross one crosswalk, it feels like crossing a small alley... doesn't even take a minute! The surrounding shops close early, and it's a bit far from the main street, so it was nice and quiet at night. Even the shops on the main street all close by 5 PM! However, you might be a bit surprised when you first check-in. You just need to enter the password correctly at the front of the building and go in to check-in. There's no one there, so you might feel a bit flustered. There are stairs leading to the check-in area, so if you have a lot of luggage, I recommend leaving it downstairs, checking in first, getting your room assignment, and then moving your bags! If you get a room on the first floor, you'll have to carry them back down! I heard there's an onsen on the rooftop, but I didn't go, so I don't know. Also, they don't clean the rooms! This didn't bother me much, but they only provide enough towels for one night, regardless of whether you stay for 3 or 4 nights. They tell you to wash them in the washing machine! To use the washing machine conveniently, it's best to shower quickly, start the laundry, and then do other things. Just rinsing, spinning, and drying takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes! Also, unlike a hotel, there are no C-type or USB-type outlets in the room. You definitely need to bring an adapter. It's not like hotels where the power is weak, so I was able to use my curling iron. Since it's convenient to wash towels, I would probably use this place again if I go to Yufuin.
