Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly rich and satisfying. The Kagoshima beef practically melted in my mouth – so fragrant and delicious! The onsen (hot springs) are private, family-style rooms, and the reception area has heating and complimentary drinks, perfect for a relaxing break after a soak.

Here's a review of my stay: 1. **Location and Amenities: A Quiet Corner with Easy Access** The hotel is conveniently located, about a 7 to 10-minute walk from JR Yufuin Station, making it easy to find while also being away from the busiest commercial areas. Right next door is a Lawson convenience store, and there's a supermarket nearby, which is super handy for anyone who likes to grab snacks and drinks in the evening. 2. **Hot Spring Facilities: Highly Private "Kashikiri" Experience** This is truly the highlight of the inn! There are 5 private family hot springs (private baths), including both indoor and outdoor options. No reservations are needed; you just check if the light at the entrance is off, and if so, it's free to use. **Tech-Savvy Management:** Guests can scan a QR code with their phone to instantly check the real-time availability of each private bath, saving you a wasted trip. **A Small Tip:** If you're staying in winter, the path to the outdoor baths and some outdoor showering areas can feel quite cold. If you're sensitive to cold, I recommend prioritizing private baths #1-3, which are indoors. 3. **Dining Experience: A Hearty Yakiniku Feast** We opted for the half-board plan, and dinner was enjoyed at a partner yakiniku restaurant. The wagyu beef was excellent quality and incredibly generous in portion. There was even a bonus offer of unlimited alcoholic beverages and plum wine, making it fantastic value for money. The Japanese-style breakfast the next day was also very filling, providing a great start to our day. 4. **Unique Atmosphere: A Paradise for Animal Lovers** The inn has very gentle cats and dogs living on the premises. If you're lucky, the resident cat manager might even appear in common areas or even come by your room for a patrol. For animal-loving travelers, this sense of warmth and comfort is something other hotels simply can't replicate. 5. **Accommodation Details and Recommendations** **Room Space:** The new wing rooms are spacious, blending modern comfort with traditional Japanese aesthetics.

I was very satisfied with my stay. Delicious barbeque dinner, good tempura breakfast. There are 5 baths available, all of them are private. I tried in door and outdoor, both are well decorated, comfortably hot.

The counter service is very nice They are very patient and detailed explanation Sound Other Guests or children maybe having too much fun, Laughing and running around in the hallway, The distubing other guest and the soundproofing needs to be improved

We love the ambience and you can get a private onsen. The shower room in the room is very small but it does not matter we we could use the private onsen. The food was excellent. The only little complaint is that it is about 15-20 minutes’ walk to the famous Floral Village. Nevertheless, we had a good time.

The hotel was not really managed by local Japanese, as the so called half board meals inclusive and hotspring facilities are very low end. The first night dinner included diy sushi- pot of sushi rice, seaweed, and some inner filings (ie raw fish, cooked shrimp, egg, cucumber etc). Interesting, they could not provide sushi soy sauce, but some eel sauce or general soy sauce. It was a bad experience… as the meals we expected would be genuine Japanese dinner included in a traditional onset hotel. Hotspring facilities are dated and uncleaned….though the spring water is in right temperature. The breakfast is less disappointed. But it is my first time to try chicken tempura, which is not something I experienced ever in my past decades traveling in Japan. I booked a garden room. It is not too small, but not spacious and easy to keep large luggage inside. Room condition is soso. They don’t have daily room cleaning service. Two good remarks I can make: they offer free drinks during meals and near reception area. Besides, they keep some adorable cats and a dog there which my kids loved to play with them.

Fantastic accommodation. There's 5 onsen that you can try out during your stay. Food is really good with free flow alcohol for dinner. Really sweet of the staff to prepare snacks and a complimentary Polaroid shot when you check out. Everything is just so comfortable and fuss-free.

Nice onsen and room. They hired Nepali to serve and much better communication. Food is delicious Using their bicycle to travel in the city was reli nice and convenient, saving lots of time.

Our ryokanl booking came with sukiyaki dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the dinner very much but had to skip the breakfast due to our tight schedule. The ryokan had a cosy atmosphere, almost as if like we were staying at a good friend's house. There were a few cute and friendly cats which were mostly hanging around the courtyard and reception area. Nice onsen private onsen baths. Wished that the ryokan had provided luggage stands for us to put our luggages instead of us having to place our luggages on the floor and on the sofa.

Conveniently located with easy parking for those driving, and offering a variety of breakfast and dinner options. Very cozy and unique, with different private hot springs to relax in; the environment is elegant and tranquil, and there are convenience stores nearby.

The hotel is located near the center of Yufuin, making it very convenient for both JR and car travel. I drove, and there was parking right outside the hotel. The staff provided directions and explained the hotel facilities upon check-in. The room had an old-school Japanese feel upon entering. There were two outdoor patios for drying clothes or letting the children play. After checking in, we booked a time slot for a private bath. It was perfectly located right next to our room. However, the water was too warm, and neither my friend nor I enjoyed it. We then switched to the public baths, which were very satisfying. 👍🏻

A very cozy hot spring inn. Small, but the staff are very friendly. The environment is very clean, with five hot springs available. There are also adorable cats and dogs. Highly recommended.
