Yufuin Mori No Hotel Shan-Jewel

This hotel is exceptionally clean and hygienic, a clear priority for the owner. You're required to take off your shoes and wear designated slippers inside, and there's a separate pair for the onsen facilities. After my hot spring bath, I accidentally wore the onsen slippers back to my room, which really startled the owner! However, she was very hospitable and even booked private hot spring times for guests, so you don't have to share with others – it was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is close to Lake Kinrin, which is why I chose it, specifically to see the morning mist. The price was also more reasonable than places near the station. The only minor drawback was that dinner and breakfast were quite simple, so you might need to supplement them if you want a full meal. You can see cherry blossoms from the room, and the panoramic view of Yufu city is stunning. Overall, I highly recommend it.

The hostess of this B&B is a very neat and tidy lady. She even cleaned our luggage wheels for us and carried our bags upstairs, then reminded me specifically about trash sorting. I was quite diligent about sorting my trash during my two-night stay, which was fine since I'm also very particular about it. Due to the language barrier, on the first night, I went to use the private hot spring and accidentally wore my shoes inside the small cabin. I'll definitely be more careful next time! This B&B is quite clean, and I'd probably stay here again on my next visit!

The owner was lovely and provided excellent service. You can reserve the hot spring for private family use, so you don't have to share with others. My daughter finally tried the hot spring because of this and absolutely loved it!

If you come by bus, you have to walk a short way uphill to reach the hotel. The hotel is very clean. Recently, you have to change into slippers. There are also special slippers in the hot spring area. The hostess is very polite and will ask what time you want to soak in the hot spring. There is a private hot spring. When I came, it was the off-season for tourism, and I was the only guest in the entire hotel. The room is very large and has a balcony.

The location is a bit secluded, the owner is very friendly, it's near Jinlin Lake, and there's plenty of parking, as accommodation is limited.

The hotel is new and seems suitable for those driving. Carrying luggage upstairs requires quite a bit of physical exertion. I booked a larger room, which had plenty of space—enough to lay out ten large suitcases flat! 😂 The bed was in a separate room. It's not easy to find this type of room. Also, due to limited staff, you should be mindful of check-in time.

Hot spring spring water, 100% full hot spring, this is very good, after soaking the body is smooth and much more comfortable!
