Yufuin Onsen Hotel Poppoan

For my in-laws' 80th birthday celebration, six of us stayed in three rooms, and Yufuin Onsen Poppoan Ryokan was truly the best value for money. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful; they even assisted me with calls to the insurance company after a rental car accident, which helped resolve everything smoothly. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious, and my parents-in-law absolutely loved them. My sincere thanks to the two female staff members at Poppoan.

This is truly the best place! My family and I stayed here and we didn't experience any inconvenience at all. I highly recommend it. Just go for it! Good!

This is a small ryokan, and I really enjoyed having a private bath. The front desk staff are a bit cool and don't greet you with the usual Japanese cheerfulness, but it seems they can communicate in Japanese and English. I actually quite liked the chugging sound of the trains passing by, and I had a very relaxing stay.

This place is truly, truly excellent! The outdoor onsen is amazing, not to mention the endless kaiseki meals and the private onsen right in the room – it's absolutely perfect. The owner is also very kind, and there's staff who can speak English, so you won't experience any inconvenience during your stay!!

The private open-air bath was absolutely wonderful. We ate dinner out, but had breakfast there, and it was a fantastic, well-prepared meal. We slept well on futons in the tatami room. Trains passed by after midnight until early morning, but it was still a great stay.
