We’ve just returned from our stay and I’ve found this review quite difficult to write because I genuinely don’t want the negatives to reflect badly on the staff or the Greek people we met. Firstly, the staff at the hotel were lovely. We needed a potty for our little girl and they genuinely went above and beyond trying to find one for us. Whenever we needed anything, they were friendly and helpful. Our beds were made and we had fresh towels every day, and the air conditioning in our room worked really well. In fact, every Greek person we encountered during our holiday was incredibly friendly and the customer service everywhere was second to none. Such lovely people. Unfortunately, though, this hotel or the surrounding area isn’t suitable for families and I feel I need to warn others who may be considering booking. We were a large group of mixed aged from 70 to 2. We had five rooms between us, so our experience wasn’t based on just one room. In one of the rooms, the electricity went off every 2 to 3 minutes. The showers were also incredibly temperamental. You could be showering normally and then suddenly the water would be boiling hot, followed by freezing cold, with no consistent temperature. There was an awful egg/sulfur smell from the drains in the bathrooms. We had to cover the drain with a towel to stop the smell. A family member found a huge cockroach in their room. After reading some recent reviews before our arrival, we had contacted the hotel before and asked if we could be placed in a quieter part of the hotel. Our room was reasonably quiet, although our balcony looked directly over the bins – perhaps that was the trade-off for being in the quieter part! Noise actually wasn’t as much of an issue for us as I had expected, but I think this was largely because our routines were completely opposite to most of the other guests. As we were returning from our evening with the children, most of the other guests were heading out for the night, and when we were getting up in the morning, many of them seemed to be just going to bed. When we first arrived, one of the first things we saw when we stepped onto our balcony was the balcony next door with vodka bottles all over the table. The hotel was predominantly full of teenagers and young groups. I want to add; Every guest we personally encountered were really nice and polite, so this isn’t intended as criticism of them at all. The hotel and area are simply much more suited to a young party holiday than a family holiday. The gym is also basically non-existent. I specifically went to look at it because I had planned to use it while we were away, and honestly it was like something out of a horror film. It was eerie, felt completely abandoned and looked as though it hadn’t been used in months. I certainly wouldn’t have felt comfortable being down there on my own. The machines and equipment either didn’t work or were unusable. In my opinion, the hotel should not advertise that it has a gym when i
