Balcony Boutique Hotel

I almost hate to write this glowing review since it will mean in the future, more people will take advantage of this absolutely perfect hotel on Zakinthos which will mean less access for people like me. However, having stayed in many hotels over the years, most middle range, some a bit expensive, the Balcony Hotel, in my opinion is as perfect as it gets. Perched high on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Ionian Sea with a magnificent view down below, it was a little slice of heaven. Spotlessly clean, sumptuous included breakfasts with something for every taste (they even made special entrees for my vegan niece), extremely comfortable beds and well appointed rooms, gracious and ever helpful and knowledgeable and accessible staff, this place was well thought out in every possible way to provide the best experience a weary traveler can have. If it were up to me, I would have spent my entire time in Greece staying there. I simply cannot think of one thing I would improve on. And if you’re smart, you will come to depend on the staff as we did to help you find good restaurants, water adventures, shuttle options, and sightseeing tips for everything Zakinthos which is now probably my favorite Greek Island. Snorkeling at the Blue Cave at Kerri was the highlight for me after the magical wedding of my niece Katie at a small exquisite Greek Orthodox Church where the locals clapped as we left the church, followed by the reception at the Balcony Hotel which matched the service in every way. Five stars for me for the Balcony Hotel in Tsilivi and their staff. To believe this review, you only have to experience it, and lucky you if you do.

Perfect place to stay in Zakynthos. Nice area, nice views, nice staff, really good price/value. Room is cleaned every day properly, there are wide choices of food for breakfast, and also the dinner was great when we tried one time. AC works properly in the room, desired temperature can be achieved within minutes. Hotel is on a hilltop, therefore own car is recommended, otherwise you would need to climb it every time, which can be exhausting but rather dangerous, as there is no pavement on the road. Free parking space is provided, and the lot is spacious enough, we always found an empty spot.

Absolutely perfect! First time on the island so I spent 2 days on the computer searching and reading reviews and somehow was lucky to find this gem of a hotel. We were spending a week so I wanted to be a little away from the busy Zakynthos town but close enough. We rented a car at the airport and getting here was easy. The hotel is spotless and very well kept. The owners are extremely nice and helpful and caring. The view is amazing and room is spacious and clean. We had the panoramic room on the second floor. Location is excellent and nice to come back after a busy day out to a lovely relaxing view.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. MOST DISGUSTING AND UNHYGIENIC EXPERIENCE IVE HAD. Have been on many budget holidays and have never had such a poor experience starting off with hygiene. Dead and alive flies were found on all surfaces including areas where toothbrushes and soap was expected to of been kept . Silver fish bigs were found crawling in my luggage and around all the floors, had to throw away clothes and wash clothing a good few times to prevent any spread when returning. Aside from bugs floor was ridiculously sticky and dirty and when cleaned for 30 seconds the water seen on the bucket was filled with dirt, completely black.floor was so bad I had to keep shoes on at all times to avoid touching the floors. As of hygiene could not have been any worst, old blood was found on my 1 and shallow pillow. Bed sheets were asleep thin and dirty, resorted to using a sarong to keep myself warm at night.HOTEL IS IN NEED OF INSPECTION as a complete BIO HAZARD even after moving room a number of times. As if I could not have been worst new towels were given to us in the morning ti which vomit was found covered within them. Moving on to practicality. Door would not unlock properly, spent15 minutiae on each occasion trying to open doors with an old lock. Had to repeat to walking down to reception on most occasions to get doors open. Curtains were ripped and mirrors were disgusting. Toilet would also not flush on most occasions had to consistently have staff up to fix their disgusting and broken toilets. Location is okay but down dark ally’s to get to. Does not seem safe at night especially when drinking, would recommend staying at any of the other 100s of locations in the similar areas which would be almost satisfactory. Staff were completely rude. Not accommodations at all and did not seem interested in any of their isssues presented. Have never had such bad service. Also have to pay 50 euro deposit upon arrival to which I did not receive back until 4 weeks after leaving. This hotel is completely poor and should be shut down immediately.

Absolutely loved our stay in this hotel . It is located in the stunning location, very close to the beach and local amenities ( we walked). It has the most amazing views over the local sea front. It is very modern and well equipped ( good air con, safe deposit box, lovely functional breakfast with freshly baked cakes). Staff could not do enough - so friendly, accommodating and genuine. Simply amazing

Beautiful view from the rooms on the bay of Tsilivi , same as from the restaurant and the garden. Delicious breakfast. Unfortunatly did not try the restaurant in the evening, but it must be of value because always full in the evening, Very, very clean rooms. Extremely friendly personel taking care of all your wishes at any time of the day Highly recommended for a very confortable and quiet stay in Zakintos.

Absolutely perfect choice and a beautiful hotel and location. The owners are very caring and the hotel is perfect with the most stunning view.

Lovely quiet property. Delicious breakfast buffet every morning was a perfect way to start the day. We really enjoyed the friendly staff and the view from our balcony. It is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Tsilivi and Planos but it had one of the few parking lots in the area which is why we picked it. We really enjoyed the city of Tsilivi. Great place to stay on the island. There were a couple things we didn’t particularly like, the toilets only allow flushing every 15 mins so you have to wait to flush sometimes. This may be because of the type of plumbing I’m not sure. The beds were beautiful but too stiff for my back. There are no usb ports for US visitors fyi. Overall very happy with our stay.

Unfortunately didn’t stay in the hotel but wanted to comment on how lovely the restaurant is. Food was modern and delicious, the waitresses were attentive and knowledgeable about what they were serving. As we visited late in the season the evenings were a bit chilly, they had blankets on hand! Would love to visit again.
