Perfect little getaway in Zakopane 🏔️ The location was amazing, close to lots of restaurants, attractions, and just a few minutes from the bus stop. The best part was being able to check out early in the morning and head straight out for a hike, away from all the hustle and bustle. The place felt safe, the staff were super friendly, and check-in was quick and smooth. Would definitely stay here again!

Charming little hotel with beautiful views and excellent location. I can honestly recommend it. If it weren’t for a few shortcomings, I would have given it 5 stars. The view from our room was the first thing that impressed us. The large skylights and the floor-to-ceiling side window overlooking the mountains made it a place you actually wanted to wake up in. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy, and we felt well taken care of from the start. The hotel is just a short walk from the main pedestrian street and also perfectly located if you’re heading into the mountains. The spa and relaxation area was another plus, although it felt a bit like it had been squeezed into a hallway between the guest rooms. Why 4 stars, not 5? Because the hotel is clearly aiming for a five-star standard, but it doesn’t quite deliver the full experience. If they weren’t aiming for that higher standard, I probably would have given it the highest rating. Even though our room was spacious, the bathroom felt cramped. We booked two rooms in the same category, and it was disappointing that, despite paying the same price, one room was noticeably less appealing than the other, even though it was still nice. The wooden door frame in the bathroom looked worn and had swollen from moisture. The bedding wasn’t pressed very well either. At this price, breakfast really should be included. When you’re charged extra at every turn, it’s only fair to expect everything to be spot on - in our case, it wasn’t.

I stayed at Hotel Rysy, and while the location is great and the breakfast is good, my experience was completely ruined by a terrifying security failure and terrible staff handling. 1. The Security Incident & Management Cover-up (The Main Issue): On my final night at 21:15, while resting on my bed, someone unlocked and opened my room door from the outside without knocking. When the intruder realized I was inside, they immediately slammed the door shut and ran away down the stairs without saying a word. I rushed out but they were gone. When I complained to the night receptionist, he first claimed nobody left, then changed his story saying it was a female staff member who "just went home." The next morning, the manager was extremely unpleasant. He claimed the night receptionist told him it was just a housekeeper who accidentally went to the wrong floor. This excuse makes no sense: * The housekeepers finish work at 18:00, so what was she doing there at 21:15? * There was no cleaning trolley in the hallway. * Earlier that day at noon, the housekeeper properly knocked before entering. Why didn't this person knock? * If it was an innocent mistake by a staff member, why did she run away in panic? The manager refused to show me the CCTV footage to prove his story. As compensation, he waived the 240 PLN parking fee, claiming it was a third of my stay cost (which is factually incorrect; it was barely a quarter). I felt so unsafe that I had to block the room door with a heavy chair just to sleep. 2. Additional Room Issues during the stay: * No Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi did not work at all during our entire stay. I tried connecting an iPhone, a Samsung, and a laptop. The staff dismissively blamed our devices instead of fixing their network. * Water Leak: There was a disgusting dirty water leak coming from the bathroom ceiling, which was actually sewage water leaking from the shower of the room above us into our shower. * Broken Lighting: The light on the bathroom mirror was completely broken and did not work. * Big Spider: We found a huge spider in the room. A manager came to kill it and accidentally broke the curtain while doing so. To their credit, they apologized and fixed the curtain the next day. The Good Points: The hotel's location is excellent, the breakfast is good, towels are changed daily, and they have paid parking on-site.

The hotel is branded as a 5-star facility, but in reality it is far from that standard. At best, it is a solid 3-star hotel, and if one is being generous, possibly a low 4-star. The location is excellent, which is the hotel’s strongest point. The common facilities are acceptable but nothing exceptional or close to what one would expect from a 5-star property. The room itself was just OK, but again, not at a 5-star level. The pillows were clearly worn, the bed sheets looked tired and used, and overall the room did not feel properly clean. We also found a sock from a previous guest under the bed, which is unacceptable at any level, let alone a hotel claiming five stars. Breakfast was disappointing and definitely not 5-star quality—more in line with a mid-range 3-star hotel. That said, the restaurant staff were polite and friendly, which is appreciated. Similarly, at reception we were greeted by a very kind and welcoming lady, which was a positive note. In summary: great location, average facilities, below-par cleanliness, and a price that does not match the standard offered. For this cost, I would choose another hotel that actually meets true 5-star expectations, or at least comes close to them.
