"Good location close to everything you need and want to visit in Stone Town. We also organised a boat trip to Prison island which was well organised. Breakfast is ok and the pool is clean and not too small, if you don´t mind swimming in the middle of everything and just beside the restaurant. However, I cannot recommend the restaurant for dinner as we waited a long time and there are much better restaurants close by. Our room was in another building very close to the hotel, clean enough but needs some updates. There is supposed to some some kind of kitchen, but that is not the case - no cutlery and the water heater did not work. Daily cleaning is provided and the also do anti-mosquito spraying every evening."

"This locally owned budget hotel is a perfect location for anyone who wishes to be away from the hassle and bustle of Stone Town but close enough to reach it in a 15 min walk. The accommodations are simple (e.g. no hairdryer or toiletries), and no elevator, but the staff are friendly and very responsive. Beds are firm and linens crisp and clean and great A/C. The dining room is a cozy outdoor alcove with local fare offered buffet style. Breakfast is made fresh to order, though not included as indicated on some booking sites. The only downside for light sleepers might be the early wake-up calls by several vocal roosters..... "

"Its a terrible hotel, the service bad, the breakfast was poor and everyday the same, the room was full of insects, the wifi didnt work properly. Its super noisy all the day and night. They enter to your room, when they want, without nocking at the door. If you have a problem, they dont help to you. They do the check in when they want, and you have to wait hours. I dont recommend, we really had a bad experience."

"This hotel left a very pleasant impression. The atmosphere of the hotel and the rooms 🔥. There's a pool. The food is good, generally simple but delicious. Breakfast is on the rooftop overlooking the port. In the evening, while I was walking, one of the staff came and closed the curtains for me, lowering the mosquito nets – great service! They let me stay by the pool until evening while waiting for my flight. You can also use the restaurant's services. Unfortunately, I couldn't swim outside the hotel; the Stone Town area in general didn't appeal to me after Nungwi Beach... But that's not the hotel's problem. My booking stated $4 for two people for tax, but I paid half since I was alone. At another hotel, they didn't tell me about this, and I paid the full amount, and I didn't even know... So, honest and pleasant people work here, and I can recommend this hotel! Many guests are from Europe, which is also an indicator of the quality of the hotel's services!"

We stayed during a busier time of year and booked the small double (we are two) and we probably should have booked the one that wasn't "small" as this was really small for two people. Hard to move around and nothing to sit on except the bed --- would be fine for a single person though. Other than that, the stay was very good. The decor was lovely, comfy bed, quiet room and, again, very kind and hospitable staff."

"Although the building was old, it was very well maintained and clean. There was air conditioner in the room and I could borrow a hair dryer at the reception. Staffs were very kind and the breakfast was also good. On the other hand, some things to note- during my stay, there were blackout in the area and I couldn’t use electricity nor water for a few hours. Since it’s not a high class hotel (where they might have a backup power supply), I don’t necessarily expect it, but if you are travelling it’s a good thing to be aware of! But overall, it was a good stay."
