The stay in the Colani hotel was excellent, the suite for us three lovely, the dinner delicious and the staff very polite and helpful. We can recommend this hotel very warmly. We enjoyed the days in this environment very much. We can imagine to return to this lovely place.

The hotel is what you expect for this price: comfortable, cozy, designed nicely, and ran by a professional and very helpful staff. Everyone speaks many languages, they are available all the time for any questions. Our room was spaceous and clean. There's a bistro and bar, with a decent lunch and dinner menu. And also, there is a gourmet restaurant, which has an impressively high Gault Millau rating (16) and one Michelin star, quite deserved. One of the best meals I ever had, and we also had the chance to meet the chef at the end of the dinner, who was quite happy to explain his dishes to the guests. Overal it was a great experience to spend two nights here, and I'd definitely come back again.

Never ever again, when we arrived we passed shortly before IN LAIN which is in the same price range, however as we realize now so much better! The restaurant is in short a disaster, with 16 points Gault Millau we had a tagliata that was full in fat for CHF 75.-, a glass of wine CHF 25.- etc. etc. The best was I wanted Linguini as a Contorno and this was still charged with 38.- extra, where as the Puree that my girlfriend ordered never arrived, instead of some potatoes... The best of all was, that once I received the bill for onbious reason I am not going to be 75.- for a mediocre meat and on top 38.- for Linguini, lesson learned never discuss with an Italian chef, because he is right and you as the guest wrong, in short one big disaster, the suite we had for CHF 500.- was ok, however taking in consideration the Spa and the rest quiet frankly a joke!!! PS: By profession I have been many years in the premium hotellerie myself and can still not believe it, especially when the Chef asked me if I have even been in Engiadina...

We were quite disappointed because we were not able to eat in the hotel - there were contrains due to Corona which we fully respect but nobody did inform us upfront at booking and they did not well explain why there was no space in the gourmet restaurant : we were told fully booked but there were many table empty Also when we came back from skking and wanted to drink something nobody served us at the table but we needed to go to the bar and order there This is not what we exspect from a hotel in this price range

The hotel and the restaurant are absolutely world class. The stay was a revelation, we felt in paradise. The hospitality was phenomenal, as was the food, the location, the hotel room and the drinks. I will 100% come back again. Viva la Grischa!

We had a good feeling when first came across the hotel website. The booking was easy and fast. When we arrive, everything is exactly as good as we imagined. There is a car park next to the hotel. The checkin was easy and fast too. Every staff we met are attentive and willing to do their best to help us to solve any problems. Yes, we had some small problems with the first room we got, but once we brought up the issues to the friendly cleaning lady when she was tidying our room, she immediately took it very seriously and went downstairs to speak to her boss. Her boss upgraded us to a junior suite straight away without needing to speak to us. The cleaning lady brought the good news and the new key cards to us so we didn’t need to go downstairs to arrange the upgrading. The breakfast is very good. The fruits are super fresh, breads are well baked, my boyfriend’s favourite is the omelette. I love the cheese selection - mild and sophisticated, which made me very much looking forward to the one Michelin star restaurant Colani in the hotel. The dinner at restaurant Colani is fantastic. We ordered the tasting menu “History Repeating”. Every dish demonstrates chef Paolo Casanova’s dedication. We also had a great experience at the bar: my Sicilian Gin martini and my bf’s vodka sour with fresh ginger are both very tasty. The pastry at the cafe: we both loved the tiramisu! The main reason why we choose this hotel is because of the horse riding tours at the ranch on the opposite side of the street. While I went out for riding, my bf enjoyed the sauna and the cold pool at the spa very much. We stayed for three nights. We were the last guests of the winter season. This is definitely one of our best holidays. Big thanks to the Chesa Stuva Colani team!

The hotel is extremely cozy and is located in a place where you can regain your energy and immerse yourself in nature. I would recommend it to everyone especially lovers of peace and natural beauty. In summer you can think of beautiful walks in the Swiss National Park and surrounding mountains as well as the Upper Engadine lakes, always using the public transportation provided by the hotel.

First of all there is no space infront of the hotel to park the car. Of course this can happen depending on where the hotel is located. However, the staff saw us through the window arriving with our suitcases and would not help one bit. Not even hold the door. Then we came to the checking, which is actually just a desk with a computer on it. We were handed a few A4 sheets of paper with the "hotel instructions". Of course the hotel director wouldn't have shown us the room or helped with the elevator or suitcases. Once arrived in the room you can read on these A4 sheets that the hotel helps with suitcases. Well I guess that was "fake news" and not required after doing it all ourselves. The room in general is very dark and the bed extremely hard. When lifting up the mattress we saw that its a thin mattres on a wood board (see picture). The small sofa in the room also was not appealing to use (see picture). Throughout the hotel we had the impression as if various things were just placed in the hotel in order to fulfill the "hotel star requirements". There are a few gym machines which are places in the "lobby" separated by a curtain from the sofas. The hair dryer needs an adapter cable since it was bought outside of Switzerland most probably. One evening when coming back a bit later (entrance door gets locked after a specific time) we saw staff still working in the bar. They saw us but wouldnt open the door, we had to look for the code and enter it... At the entrace there was also a hand sanitizer, which didnt get refilled for 2 days although it stands just infront of the hotel staff. Breakfast was simple but good, however, you have to tell the director every time something has run out at the buffet... No hand sanitizer in the breakfast room and everyone using the same forks, bread knifes, ect. Our checkout was the same as our arrival. Absolutely no help at all, staff watching and nobody even holding open the door. It could be understandable if it was very cheap, however, the stay was expensive.

Excellent discovery in the quiet town of Madulain. A hotel with Michelin-level food is a rare find. The fact it has great rooms in larch and attentive but discreet service makes it even more special. The owner is hands-on, helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the suite for families (105) and took our dog. Perfect. Highly recommend.
