Zhangjiajie Tianyuan Hotel (Tianmenshan Branch)

I had such a pleasant stay at this place. It's a walking distance from Tianmen mountain, from the bus station to Zhangjiagie national forest park and from Zhangjiagie train station. The room was great with AC and a king sized bed. There is a free laundry service as well so that was quite convenient. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, and I would stay here whenever I go back to Zhangjiagie.

We didn’t end up staying at this hotel and booked another one as we felt uncomfortable. The hotel and the surrounding area seemed sketchy. Even in the hotel reception there was a sign to deposit all your valuables. The room had ants in the (squat) toilet and the bed sheets, bedding etc had holes. Overall, the standard was just not what we expected and looked really different from what the pictures show online.

Good value for money. Very short walk to cable car and many restaurants. Clean and comfortable. Can't beat the price or location.

Unfortunately the room did not look anything like the photos. The bathroom, floors, furniture, even the walls were dirty. The bathroom is very outdated with a squatting toilet and shower combo. There was no toilet paper provided. When I turned the AC on the entire room smelled like cigarette smoke.
