Jingya Hotel Zhangjiajie

The highlight of my Zhangjiajie trip was this guesthouse nestled atop a mountain! Stepping through the door, I was instantly awestruck by the view of Baizhang Gorge framed by two large floor-to-ceiling windows. When the clouds drifted over the peaks, it felt like stepping into a scene from Avatar. I woke to birdsong in the morning, sipped some strawberry tea on a bamboo chair on the terrace, and watched the sunlight dapple the bamboo leaves with golden hues. In the evening, I gathered around the stove to brew tea and listened to the housekeeper tell stories of the mountains. At night, the sky was filled with countless stars, and even time seemed to slow down. The room was incredibly thoughtful; the Mousse mattress was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, the L'Occitane toiletries exuded sophistication, and the terrace lounge chair was the perfect spot for gazing at the mountains and daydreaming. Here, you don't need to chase the crowds; simply watching the ever-changing mountain scenery from the guesthouse is enough to heal. Next time, I definitely want to come see the snow!
