I booked this room for a trip with my elderly father, and we were very satisfied with all the facilities. It was exceptionally clean. We went during the off-season, so it was excellent value for money. The only downside was that the bed was too hard; it was so firm I felt like I'd get bedsores if I didn't move around! The landlady was incredibly warm and attentive, and complimentary bottled water was generously provided. We saw her downstairs every day. Many guesthouses rarely feature the owner, but she was always around downstairs, even offering Kung Fu tea. There's a rooftop area for laundry and drying, complete with a transparent glass roof, which was great. Most importantly, there's an elevator. The surrounding area is very convenient for food, supermarkets, and shopping, and taxis are easily accessible. However, for first-timers, it's best to call the landlady for directions. I didn't ask when I went, so my taxi app took me on a long detour by directly pinpointing the guesthouse. A crucial tip: you don't actually need to stay near the Wulingyuan entrance gate. There are many old, run-down guesthouses there, with outdated facilities and high prices. A taxi from here is just a few yuan and very convenient. We visited during the off-season; I haven't experienced it during peak season. We didn't have much good weather during our Wulingyuan trip. You can see from the photos; we just had bad luck. The scenery is beautiful when the weather is good. The Grand Canyon is great and I recommend it; bad weather doesn't affect it too much. The Grand Canyon requires a hike of at least two to three kilometers – it's a truly deep canyon with mountains on both sides and water flowing throughout.
