Zhangjiakou International Hotel

The room was fantastic, a pleasant surprise! It was spacious and well-equipped. The family room with a king-sized bed was huge and even had bunk beds, perfect for a family trip. Breakfast was a bit mediocre, and the bathroom amenities weren't great; the facilities felt a bit outdated.

We booked a suite this time, and the size was perfect for our child to happily play around. The breakfast buffet was as good as ever, with excellent Cantonese dim sum. We frequent this hotel, and it's not too far to drive from Beijing. Highly recommended!

A truly perfect hotel. It's close to the city hall and museums. The hotel itself is grand, with spacious and well-equipped rooms. It also boasts excellent facilities including a spa, gym, sauna, and swimming pool. The staff were very enthusiastic and attentive.

The environment and facilities meet traditional five-star standards, which was as expected. However, the overall service level falls far short of a five-star rating. There was no security guard at the hotel entrance, and no bellhop to assist when we arrived. My wife was left alone with our older child and carrying the baby while I went to park the car. When I checked in at the lobby, perhaps because I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, a staff member eyed me suspiciously from head to toe before asking, "Are you checking in?" In the morning, our eldest didn't want to get up, so I wanted to pack some food for her, but we were only given two breakfast vouchers. I happened to be on the first floor and asked the front desk if I needed to pay extra if I wanted to pack an additional breakfast. A young woman stammered, unsure how to respond, and then asked a female colleague next to her, who had been looking down the entire time. This woman, without even lifting her head, said impatiently, "Just ask them in the restaurant." A hotel staff member who lacks basic respect, etiquette, and polite language. I hope the hotel can genuinely focus on serving its guests and achieve a five-star standard in both hardware and software.

The facilities are a bit old, and it has a Viennese style. The main pool is quite deep, but the kids' pool is suitable for children. It seems to be primarily a training facility, especially for external swimming lessons. So, after 5 PM, only one lane is available for swimming. The management is a bit lax and somewhat disorganized, but the service attitude is very good. The underground parking seems to be unusable. The breakfast isn't as diverse as those in big chain star hotels, but it really suits Chinese tastes. The roujiamo (meat burger) is quite good, and their lamb soup is excellent. Their milk tea is also nice, though the bread is just average. The rest are stir-fried dishes, and their hand-torn sausage is good, as are many of their cold dishes. They also offer black tea, which tastes pretty good. Oh, and I almost forgot the most important thing: the curtains are very thin and don't block out much light. Maybe it's a business hotel, and they want you to wake up and get to work as soon as it's light outside.

The Zhangjiakou International Hotel boasts an excellent location, close to a commercial district and with convenient transportation. The lobby is spacious and bright, and the front desk staff are warm, professional, and efficient with check-ins. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with soft bedding and good sound insulation, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. The breakfast offers a rich variety of options, combining Chinese and Western dishes, and the taste is decent. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation and plenty of hot water. Overall, it offers great value for money and is suitable for both business travelers and families. Highly recommended.

On this business trip to Zhangjiakou, I once again chose the Zhangjiakou International Hotel! Great location, great service, and great rooms! First, the location: it's a 7-8 minute drive south to the high-speed rail station, and about a ten-minute drive north to the scenic old town. To the east, it's right next to the (new) Zhangjiakou Museum! Second, the service: from the front desk to the housekeeping staff on the floors, the attitude was exceptional. They were incredibly friendly and their enthusiasm was just right. I particularly want to commend the housekeeper on my floor; she noticed my colleague had been drinking and proactively asked if he needed honey water (thumbs up 👍). Finally, the rooms: they're larger than most hotel rooms, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a full night's sleep!
