Balmer See – Hotel•Golf•Spa

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend golfing. Conclusion in advance: bad value for money, shabby rooms with uncomfortable beds, food not four stars, wellness area outdated and defective. Rooms: We stayed in a two bedroom apar**ent with a kitchen. And our room was cleaned every day like in the hotel. Cleanliness was good. Unfortunately the mattresses were an impertinence! When asked at reception, we were offered a topper. That was much better then. However, I had the impression that the complaint occurs more often. You should act urgently. The entire facility was outdated and worn. Even the couch in the living area is rock hard, not comfortable at all. Food: We had booked half board. At breakfast you should wait, as usual, until you are seated. None! No one appeared or took any notice of us. A stressed-looking service force then said to us: "Find a seat"! So far so good... and so we searched the entire restaurant for a free table... service non-existent! What we saw was that some couples sat at a table of four. This could be avoided if the guests were seated by the staff. Due to the corona virus, one (!) glove is used to serve at the buffet. This was way too big for our kids. What I have never experienced in a hotel is that the guests can make their own smoothie. Certainly a nice thought. But, unfortunately, a single mess. A board and knife for this mass of guests, unwieldy smoothie maker (without instruction from the service you stand and try yourself). That has nothing to do with spoiling yourself! Which guest would like to chop their fruit and vegetables? Otherwise the selection was good, but juice from the machine, we didn't like the coffee at all. We had dinner twice in the "Alte Schule". The food was good, but not outstanding. The service up to the main course was quick. We waited half an hour for dessert. In the restaurant in the hotel there was a salad bar, the main course and dessert were served. Loveless serving of the salads and little choice. Wellness area: This has us very disappointed! Of the four saunas, only one sauna and the infrared were usable. The changing rooms are very small, only a small bench for storage. The water in the pool totally cold. For me, that has nothing to do with relaxation and well-being. Unfortunately, the entire area is outdated and above all not well maintained! I never saw anyone at the spa reception during our stay. Golf: Great golf instructor, nice short course, very nice reception at the Golfhus. We had booked the golf package that included the green fee for three days. I wanted to book tee times in advance. However, there were only times left where we could play in a foursome. We didn't want that. Especially since our children received golf lessons throughout their stay. So we decided

As every year in recent years, we were mainly golfing in the hotel. The beautiful location on the backwaters and the two golf courses as well as the proximity to the Baltic Sea are also the big plus points of the house. The SPA area is small but still very nice, in summer there is also a natural pool in the outdoor area. We have always booked an apar**ent that is very spacious and well stocked. However, all too often the sauna towels were missing, which were no longer available in the SPA area, but should be left in the room by the housekeeping staff. The beds are also a disaster, mattress and pillows, we have complained about this for years, but until now without hearing. The location at the driving range is not ideal in terms of background noise. Although you probably shouldn't train before 8 a.m., lawn mowing work takes place regularly, or the balls are collected, and that already at 6:45 a.m. ... the windows are not soundproof windows, so you stand in bed. Although this has already been criticized several times, we continue as usual. Some of the apar**ents are missing fly screens, so there are any insects in the room! Of three restaurants, 1.5 were closed over the entire period. The quality of the food in the panorama restaurant was not worthy of a 4-star superior hotel. The salad starter buffet was a disaster, the service limited due to the lack of staff. Service on the terrace only until 5 p.m.... The chambermaids go through the whole house, so you might think the house will be demolished. No sensitivity to the guests not getting up at 8am. There are good service staff at breakfast, in the bar (Lukas, Ronny), in the food service (Mr. Shevzak, Renata) ... they are very customer-oriented! The grill buffets were also very good and tasteful. All in all, this time unfortunately not a relaxed stay as usual and therefore not acceptable.

The Balmer See complex is really beautiful and quietly located on the Achterwasser. We were not accommodated directly in the hotel but in one of the apar**ents in the surrounding houses. The golf course is beautifully laid out, but non-golfers can also relax wonderfully here. We also used the hotel's beautifully designed wellness area. The Ayurvedic massages by Pradeep from Sri Lanka in the Asia Pavilion are highly recommended; they are wonderful and relaxing. The restaurant in the hotel and the associated Balmer Steakhouse offer good food. There is also a gin bar in the hotel. Overall, we felt very comfortable there, the service is good and we will definitely come back.

We wanted something to eat and drink - the (German) waitress wanted to tell her two regulars what she had experienced in 7 months of lockdown... The outdoor seating area was not even 50% full and yet we waited about 15 minutes for the drinks. Are you already playing golf or do you just want to eat? The golf course is in a wonderful location!

Wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt und möchten das Hotel gern weiterempfehlen. Der Service war ausgezeichnet und es gab keinerlei Probleme mit Wartezeiten und fehlendem Personal. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls ausgezeichnet. Nicht ganz überzeugen konnte das abendliche 3 Gänge-Menü. Hier fehlte uns Geschmack und Würze. Etwas veraltet sind TV und Duschkabine aber diverse Erneuerungen sind erkennbar.

Das Golfhotel ist, von der Unterkunft her, auf einige Häuser verteilt. Die Zimmer sind nicht mehr sehr aktuell, aber sauber und ausreichend ausgestattet. Im Haupthaus sind Rezeption, Bar und Restaurant. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend, das Abendessen als Menu ebenfalls. Leider gab es während unseres Aufenthalts 3mal Buffet, vermutlich wegen zu wenig Personal. In der Bar mussten wir teilweise sehr, sehr lange warten. Essen, Personal (wenn anwesend) Sauberkeit und Ambiente waren hervorragend. Die angrenzenden, beiden 18-Loch-Golfplätze waren auch in phantastischem Zustand. Das Hotel ist sehr, sehr schön und gut, auch wenn an Kleinigkeiten gearbeitet werden müsste und einfach mehr Servicepersonal benötigt werden würde.

Ich komme schon seit ca 15 Jahren und als Golfspieler ist alles top. Plätze, Wellness, Saune, Massagen und auch die Lage und Ruhe des Hotels. Allerdings kann ich das Panorama Restaurant nicht mehr empfehlen. Ich habe geschlagene 45 Minuten gewartet bevor die Vorspeise geliefert wurde. Die Rinderhüfte war zäh und ungenießbar. Also besser im Steakhus oder der Alten Schule( Italiener) buchen wenn Sie Halbpension gebucht haben.
