Hotel Limmathof

The hotel's location is excellent, right across the bridge from the train station. There's a large supermarket by the bridge where you can buy vegetables, fruits, and bread. To the right of the entrance is a Starbucks, and to the left, down an alley, are many restaurants and souvenir shops. From the hotel, it's walking distance along the Limmat River to Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's Old Town, and Fraumünster Church. The room was small, as expected, and the bed was on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. There's no air conditioning, but a floor fan was provided, and with the window open, it wasn't hot even in late May. However, one incident was unacceptable: on May 31st, we were out all day, and when we returned that evening, our room door was open (the cleaning staff must have forgotten to lock it after cleaning). We immediately checked, and thankfully, nothing was missing. We were too tired to report it to the hotel at the time and checked out early the next morning.

The hotel is right next to the Polybahn funicular, by the Limmat river. From my room window, I could see the funicular bridge, which was quite interesting. For a two-day stay in Zurich, this hotel was definitely worth it. My itinerary was packed, and the hotel's location was super convenient. The price was also reasonable for Zurich.

The room is spacious, clean, and has a vintage decor. The location is excellent, just a ten-minute walk from the main train station, and then a bit further south are the Old Town and Lake Zurich. Hot water for tea and coffee is available on the first floor.
