We stayed at the Swiss Star Apartment on Friesstrasse 8, District 11, Zurich, for 5 nights, and unfortunately it was one of the worst accommodation experiences we've had.
The biggest issue was that the lift was out of service throughout our stay. Our apartment was on the 12th floor, which meant we had to carry all of our luggage up and down via stairs by hand. We repeatedly tried to contact the property by phone, but no one answered. We also sent an email requesting assistance and never received a response.
Then we contacted trip customer support We requested a simple modification to our booking by asking to be moved to a room on the 1st or 2nd floor because of the broken lift, but our request was rejected without any consideration.
During our stay, we met and spoke with some of the residents, who told us that the lift had reportedly been out of service for about a month. If this is true, the property should have informed guests before arrival or offered alternative accommodation. Allowing guests to book rooms on the upper floors without warning is unacceptable.
Instead of enjoying our holiday, we spent it climbing stairs multiple times a day. By the end of our stay, both my wife and I were suffering from leg and heel pain due to the constant trips to and from the 12th floor. What should have been a relaxing vacation became physically exhausting.
If you are looking for a comfortable and stress-free holiday, I would strongly advise against staying here unless the lift is fully operational. Our holiday was significantly spoiled because of this accommodation, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend it to other travelers.
