Bicycles leant against the wall, it created some fantastic photography (Picture 1). 🏬 Onto Strøget, the buzzing pedestrian street where the friendliest locals and visitors blend effortlessly. ⛪ Along the way, I passed the Catholic Church of Our Lady, a peaceful, beautiful corner of the city that felt like a step back in time (Picture 2). 🌊 I also passed by the Aarhus Cathedral, an imposing and elegant piece of history right in the heart of the city and it's just close by the Aarhus Å (or Aarhus River, Picture 3). 🌜 But the real surprise came after sunset — I returned to the Catholic Church of Our Lady and was surprised too see it lit up brilliantly against the backdrop of the night sky. The contrast of light and shadow was absolutely breathtaking, a moment that made me stop and just take it all in (Picture 4). 🇩🇰 Aarhus might be called the City of Smiles, but it left me with wide eyes and a full heart.
