What was attractive to choose this accommodations is, aurora just outside of the guesthouse. it is a budget accommodation but the facilities all works fine. the room is clean and tidy. The guesthouse near supermarket. Short walk to the lake and Abisko Natiional Park. The kitchen also fully equipped. For those having a small budget, i would personally recommended this guesthouse. Day 4: A Day of Movement We started the morning surrounded by snow in Abisko, then spent the rest of the day on the road from Narvik to Svolvær. When there is heavy snowfall, the train from Abisko to Narvik may be suspended and replaced by a bus service. It’s important to check carefully, as the pickup point for the bus is different from the train station. There are monitor screens at STF accommodations and at the train station that provide real-time updates. We took a train from Abisko to Narvik, then transferred to bus no. 300 to Svolvær. You can pay the bus fare directly to the driver. The bus terminal in Narvik is quite small, just a simple platform located right next to a shopping mall. You can wait inside the mall comfortably. There are luggage lockers at the bus station, but as I mentioned earlier, they aren’t really suitable for large suitcases, which can be a bit inconvenient when traveling with the large luggage. We got off the bus at Svolvær sentrum (Lofotgata) and took a short walk to the hotel. 🏨 Anker Brygge : Room no.206 ✅️Recommendation => If I could change one thing about this trip, I would adjust the plan by flying from Oslo to Narvik and staying in Narvik for one night. I’d leave my large luggage at the hotel and pack only the essentials in a small backpack. From there, I would take a train to Abisko for a short visit, then return to Narvik afterward. Traveling with large suitcases on the train wasn’t very convenient, so this adjustment would make the journey much more comfortable and flexible. =>The journey from Narvik to Svolvær takes about four and a half hours. It’s best to travel during the day, as you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. =>When we were looking for a place to stay in Lofoten, we came across another interesting option—Reinefjorden Sjøhus🏨. It’s located right by the fjord near Hamnøy, offering traditional fisherman cabins with stunning views of the mountains and sea. Day 4: The bucket list ✅️ Main highlight of the trip ✨ Stayed here for 2 nights and got lucky with the Northern Lights! Even with Kp 2–3, the clear sky made them super visible. In October, there aren’t many activities available yet, but you can still hike along the Kungsleden trail or walk to Lake Torneträsk. 🏨 STF Abisko Turiststation 📌Tips: => Abisko is one of the best places to see the Northern Lights because of the “blue hole” effect🌟—an area of clearer sky that gives you a higher chance of good visibility compared to other locations. However, everything still depends on the weather. During our trip, we only saw the Northern Lights on the first night. The next night it snowed, and the forecast showed cloudy skies for the rest of the week. =>You can reach Abisko from either Kiruna or Narvik, as it is located close to the Norwegian border. In Abisko, there are two train stations: Abisko Tourist Station – This area has only one main accommodation, STF Abisko Turiststation, and it is the closest to Aurora Sky Station. However, it’s not necessary to go up to the Sky Station to see the Northern Lights—you can easily watch them from your accommodation. The area near the lake is already dark enough. Abisko Östra Station – This area has several guesthouses to choose from, offering more accommodation options. =>At STF Abisko Turiststation, there are 3 types of accommodation: 🛏️ 1. This is a hotel very close to the train station. The area around the hotel is full of beautiful scenery. Even walking along the road, you can feel the Arctic scenery. It is close to the national park and the place where you can see the northern lights. There is a very friendly convenience store less than 5 minutes' walk away. It is open until 9pm, so you can enjoy all the mountains and lakes before the sun sets. I think this is a very good hotel and worth recommending.

The weather in Abisko in the Arctic is not too cold in September, so the chances of seeing the aurora are very high.
