Israel's Acre Old City, filled with Mediterranean sensibility
#2026New Year's Greetings
Akko, a port city in northern Israel, is a charming city with preserved traces of ancient and medieval times. In particular, the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is steeped in history, with every alleyway immersed in history.
Walking through the stone walls and narrow alleyways feels like stepping back into the Crusader era. Akko is a city steeped in layers of Ottoman, Crusader, and Islamic culture, resulting in a diverse range of architectural styles that are truly fascinating to explore.
The most notable sites I visited were the Akko Citadel and the Crusader Tunnels. The tunnels were surprisingly long and well-preserved, which was particularly impressive. Walking along the passages leading to the seashore, imagining how soldiers once moved was a unique experience.
1. Plan an itinerary with Haifa – It's about a 30-minute drive from Haifa, making it a great day trip.
2.
Purchase a combined Citadel ticket – This is an efficient way to see multiple historical sites.
3. Hats and sunglasses are essential in summer – the beachfront location means the sun is strong.
4. Recommended visit around sunset – the view of the city walls and the Mediterranean sunset is truly breathtaking.

A day filled with Mediterranean sensibility: A stroll through Acre's Old City and harbor
#2026New Year's Greetings
One of the most memorable places during my trip to Israel was Acre. The Old City, with its ancient and medieval traces, felt like a living history.
Walking along the city walls, I was greeted by a panoramic view of the azure Mediterranean Sea, and the stone buildings, imbued with the weight of time, held their imposing presence. Narrow alleyways lined with small shops and cafes made for a delightful stroll.
A particularly striking area was the Old City of Acre, home to remnants of the Crusader era. The underground passageways and stone buildings vividly portrayed the history of that time.
As I approached the harbor, the atmosphere changed. The harbor, with its small boats moored, presented a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. As I walked, the sea breeze blew away my worries and allowed me to fully experience the leisurely pace of my journey.
✔ The Old City, with its well-preserved Crusader-era ruins
✔ Mediterranean views from the ramparts
✔ Explore hidden shops and cafes in every alley
✔ Take a leisurely stroll through the harbor

History meets mountain magic on this northern Israel adventure! 🏰🌄 Start in Acre’s legendary Knights' Halls then escape to highland vistas at Nimrod Fortress National Park—an itinerary packed with castle vibes and jaw-dropping scenery.
Begin at Knights' Halls in Old Akko, a time-travel portal where you walk centuries-old corridors once echoing with armor and secrets. Don’t miss the underground crypts and stone arches! For epic photos, snap the grand entrance and moody passageways—look for soft morning light (visit between 9–10 AM for fewer crowds). Address: Weizman St 1, Acre; Opening hours: Mon–Thu/Sat–Sun 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Fri 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. Tip: It gets humid, so dress comfortably and bring water. Precaution: Watch your step on uneven stones.
Next, head for Nimrod Fortress National Park—perched above Neve Ativ, it’s a landscape of ancient towers and snow-capped mountains. Climb the ramparts for panoramic valley shots (peak “insta-worthy” spot: lookout facing Mount Hermon). Address: מבצר, Nimrod; Opening hours: Mon–Thu/Sat–Sun 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Fri 8:00 AM–3:00 PM. Tip: Arrive early for the best light and serenity. Bring sturdy shoes; paths can be rocky. Precaution: Guardrails are limited at high points, so take care if you’re venturing near the edges!
Your insight says it all—the place is seriously amazing! Both locations blend ancient energy and natural drama for an unforgettable combo. Add a snack stop in Old Akko for fresh hummus or in Neve Ativ for local dairy treats—the perfect recharge.

Israel 3 days
I went there before the fighting with Hamas began in 2023.
I flew Lufthansa on the way there and back, flying from Narita to Frankfurt and then Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv.
I rented a car to travel around the country from Tel Aviv.
I didn't go south of the Dead Sea, but I did go to the Lebanese border and Gaza points.
The Lebanese border was closed, of course. There were armed soldiers standing there.
The Gaza checkpoint was also closed, and there was a high wall and barbed wire around Gaza.
I knew quite a bit about this country, and I thought I had studied it, including the country's origins, so I enjoyed a lot of things, such as Accon, the last fortress of the Crusaders, the Walls of Jericho, and Jerusalem, the holy land of the three religions. I think it was a more beautiful place than I expected.
I'd like to go again. I wanted to go to Gaza. I want to be close to the Palestinian people.
...The following year, I went to Iraq, but my passport meant I was not allowed to enter the country.

Many mature attractions come with a gift shop, but the price and the quality of the things are similar, but more tourists will not buy it.
The small shop exported by the Israeli Aka Fortress is integrated into the scenic environment and is hidden in a competition. The other thing is that the things sold inside are really too local. Everything you can think of, the Israeli souvenirs you can't think of can be found here, and the price is very favorable, not expensive.

The crusader's harbour and the knight's hall guides gave us the grand occasion of the year. This row on the first floor shows the history here. From BC to discovery.
There is a Turkish bath here. Rich merchants come here for a bath almost every day. This is a good place to talk about business. This movie will be seen in many movies.

Aka is a port city with a long history. Since the Phoenician era, humans have been settled here. The city was built after the Turks from the 18th to the 19th centuries, with well-preserved castles, mosques, shops and Turkish baths. The ruins of the Crusaders in the city date back to 1104 to 1291 and are well preserved, vividly recreating the urban planning and urban structure of the Crusaders of the medieval Jerusalem.
Crazyman_Sun.
The ancient city of Aka is located in the northern coastal plain of the northern part of Israel in the northern end of Haifa Bay.
This city is located on the Mediterranean coast and has been a hub for connecting major waterways and trading with the Levant. Aka is also one of the oldest port cities in the world, and its history dates back to the Bronze Age more than 5,000 years ago. Aka is the most sacred city of the Bah' Faith, so many Bahais go to Aka for a pilgrimage. Aka is a city of religious integration, including Jews, Muslims, Christians and Bah's.
There is always a feeling in Israel in the past few days. After seeing the past in the millennium, you will see a sea from the history, standing on the fence, watching the waves of the waves, unchanged for thousands of years.
