Diriyah Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Riyadh chartered tour
In my mind, the top1 must-see attraction in Riyadh is the Historical Diriyah, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage, open to tourists since the end of 22.
Address: Locate to At-Turaif World Heritage Site, less than 30 minutes drive from the city center. It is recommended to charter a car, and the road is a boulevard full of palm trees.
Open time during Ramadan is 4 pm-3 am, consumption in the restaurant in the ancient city can be deducted, which is equivalent to playing.
The best time to visit: Arrive at 4-5 pm in the evening, the portrait under the sunset is very good, it takes about 2 hours to go around, and then feel the excellent night light design, experience two completely different landscapes at once, and the restaurant is already open for business after the tour. Enjoy the food.
Route: The ticket check entrance is Figure 2, there are beverage and snack shops on both sides, and you can see Figures 3 and 4 if you go straight ahead. The staff suggest that you can go to the right first and then return. There are several areas (Figure 5) in the square where there are regular speeches. When you see Figure 6, you will enter the ancient city. First go into At-Turaif Mosque, the enthusiastic staff will invite you to enjoy the moon with a telescope. Come out and follow the crowd, you can see Addiriyah Museum, Arabia Horse Museum, Military Museum and other six or seven exhibition halls (Figure 10) in turn. Be sure to find Imam Abdullah bin Saudi Palace (Figure 11) when it gets dark, the excellent light and shadow are projected on the mottled wall, outlining the ancient Arabic architectural style and the changes of the times. If you are tired, you can sit in cafe Bateel (Figure 12), have a cup of coffee and overlook the skyline of the ancient city.
Restaurant recommendation: To the right of the entrance is villa Mamas Riyadh Italian restaurant, Long Chim Thai restaurant, to the left is Chez Bruno Riyadh French restaurant, Tatel Spanish restaurant, Hakkasan Riyadh Chinese restaurant.
Diriyah Ancient City, 300 years of Saudi history presented before your eyes
Diriyah nurtured the first generation of Saudi dynasty, it is an important historical ancient city, as a world heritage it is open to the public for free.
It is an ancient relic on the dried up bed of Hanifa, the former capital of Saudi Kingdom.
Entering the earth-colored houses is very peaceful, presenting the history of Saudi Kingdom and the life of the oasis vividly to the world.
It's like traveling back to 300 years ago, the prosperous era of this ancient city.
-
The ancient city is very quiet and well planned.
There are museums and so on to visit.
-
After the visit, you can go to the restaurant across the sky bridge to eat and rest.
It is also a well-built Saudi building, very much like a film and television city.
This is built later, the restaurants here are very petty bourgeoisie.
Having a coffee and enjoying the breeze is very comfortable~ The restaurant is also very suitable for weekend dates and gatherings.
-
PS: Entry to Diriyah Ancient City is free before 4 pm.
The pitfall is that we entered before 4 pm and the staff still wanted us to buy tickets.
As a result, we couldn't use our Chinese credit card to buy tickets and were allowed in, only to find out later that it's free before 4 pm, and the ticket price is 50 Saudi Riyals per person after 4 pm!
